Resumen del Editor

Templeton Reed has been hiding his inner polecat since he was a child. Keeping his animal secreted is hard for a shifter, especially when one is living in a secret community of mystical beings. It's the wolf shifters that cause Templeton the most trouble with their darned sensitive noses.

Templeton has a run-in with the Lake Erie pack and their alpha, Mikel Lupei, at the Office for Transmogrification Registration (OTTER). Templeton has a desk job checking registration papers and dealing with wolf shifters is not part of his job description. After that upsetting meeting, the meek and mild office worker suddenly finds himself in the center of not only civil unrest among the shifter community, but a violent plan for a coup aimed at rousting Mikel.

Templeton and Mikel, a skilled tracker of rogue shifters, are soon not only fighting for their lives, they're also fighting the rigidly archaic rules of their kind, as well as the person responsible for trying to take over Mikel's pack from the inside. Can this magical odd couple turn a passionate attraction into a full-fledged love affair?

cute

The narration starts out stilted but gets better as the story continues, and it's a good shifter story with a decent mystery twist to the plot.

Enjoyed it.

The story was fun, interesting with a dash of heat. It's a standalone, though it a seems to be a start of a series. I will lookout for the series.
The narration by Ron Welch was overall really good, although there were a few mispronounced words, (not enough to detract significantly). I enjoyed listening 😊

Pepe Le Pew Meets the Wolf-man

Any additional comments?

An Erie Halloween is an amusing re-imagination of the shifter genre of romance novel. The plot uses an illogical absurd coupling of wolf-shifter and a skunk-shifter that is reminiscent of the Pepe Le Pew cartoons of childhood. However, in this incarnation, Le Pew a sarcastic wise cracking character played off against a big powerful bad boy wolf shifter with a scholarly refined side to him.

It is a reductio-ad-absurdum of the genre. I smiled and chuckled my way through the entire book.

Short & Sweet: a cute story full of errors.

This is a fairly short story so world-building, characters & plot come together a little too abruptly. However, if you want a short, sweet little love story w/ a request for tolerance of differences, this will do nicely.

Its biggest issue is the narration. Ron Welch has a pleasing voice, performs well and his character voices are fine, BUT he constantly mispronounces words. (I'd give him a 4 if he had a reasonable spoken vocabulary)

This happens throughout the entire story, w/ a variety of words, which was Extremely distracting! Some of the time it sounded like the problem might have been an incorrect word from using auto-correct on the text. The rest of the time it was definitely just the narrator not pronouncing the words correctly.

Are audio books not edited? Isn't there someone in the whole recording process to make sure the book is Actually ready for release?

An Erie Halloween is a fun size M/M romance w/ editing issues.

a fast, fun-filled Halloween story.

Do you have a couple hours to kill that you need a short story and want something light-hearted and fun-filled? I have the story for you! An Eerie Halloween is the tale of Templeton a Skunk shifter( yes you heard me right a skunk shifter) How he meets and falls for a wolf shifter, a mystery where he finds himself the prey and some hot man-sex.

I loved this story in book form, but Ron Welch really brought the characters to life. You know from the first sigh that he is not gonna just read but put great inflictions and life. I loved Mikel's accent too!

If you like paranormal romance with a touch of humor, Lycan's,skunk shifters, a little mystery and some hot man-sex. This is for you!

Skunk meets werewolf

I love this book and it's series, and hope to see it's sequels made into audio books also. Templeton works in a cubicle farm for an awful boss and has to deal with a group of wolves who never progressed out of high school. Then he meets Mikel Lupei, the alpha of the werewolf pack after being attacked. The story is funny, engrossing and extremely enjoyable.

The narrator does an overall good job, with a few mispronunciations, and has accents for the main characters and side characters that helps in keeping them separate- for the most part.

My main problem with his narration is that he does a moment where he very loudly makes chewing noises as he speaks. Which, as somebody with Misophonia that is triggered by the sounds of somebody chewing (And maybe somebody who doesn't have this particular illness) Is by FAR the most disgusting thing you can possibly do around me, let alone in an audiobook. It caused me to turn it off and literally walk away from my phone until my skin had stopped crawling, then ruined the rest of my first time listening to it because I was too on guard for chewing noises than enjoying the book. I still haven't listened to that particular part of the book since. Please, Ron Welch, never do that again.
