A scientist murdered a mile beneath the earth, his secret laboratory exposed. A formula capable of forcing a power shift among the world's largest nations is missing. Its rightful owner wants it back.
Jackson Quick is pulled back into the darkness he despises. Forced to face his demons and align himself with the very people who betrayed him, he agrees to hunt for the formula. Racing against time and an evil black-market czar, Quick crosses the globe in search of a mathematical equation so valuable, nations and terrorists will pay whatever the cost to control it.
From the scientist's lab in South Dakota to London, Chernobyl, Ukraine, and Germany, Quick uses his guile and good luck to outwit the competition at every turn. Or so he thinks.
In the end, is his freedom worth the price he'll pay to earn it? Or is he better off letting the formula fall where it may?
Allegiance Burned is book two in the trilogy of Jackson Quick Sci-Fi Adventures.
Perfect for listeners of Michael Crichton, Pierce Brown, and John Scalzi.

Love the Jackson Quick Series

In Allegiance: Burned, Abrahams turns the action up to 11, while also adding in jet-setting to multiple different places and seemingly every place Quick goes, he’s one step behind. I loved the different situations and the way that Quick handled each one differently. Abrahams has a way of writing action scenes so they feel like they’re playing out in real time and you’re either there with Quick or right there watching over his shoulder. It’s a great way to read these scenes and I’m glad he’s able to bring the reader into the action.
As I mentioned in my review of Allegiance, Abrahams has this way of writing things that are either real and he just adds a bit to them or they are so close to being real that they feel like they could happen tomorrow. That’s even true with his post-apocalypse and apocalypse books. They all have this terrifying “this could happen” vibe to them and I love it. I didn’t catch the comparison to Crichton in the summary until right now, but that’s exactly what I why I think I love these books and what I was talking about with the “this could happen” feeling. That’s how Crichton’s books made me feel as I finished them, even the science behind Jurassic Park was realistic and WAY ahead of its time. Abrahams has the same chops and I love it.
Overall, from the great narration by Jay Snyder, to the excellent writing and pacing of Abrahams, Allegiance: Burned is easily one of the best thriller/action novels I’ve read in a long time and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one.
