another great story!

loved this story! the characters were so engaging that I could not put it down until the end, and wow the surprises!

Romance, suspense, intrigue!

This audiobook has it all! I loved everything about it!
Cecelia Teague and Cassius Ramsey are seemingly on opposing sides of the morality game. When they have to go into hiding in the wilds of Scotland, they realize how alike they are, while falling in love! Swoon! Again, Derek Perkins narrates this perfectly!

only one thing.

I really really needed an epilog to finish this. As the first book had one that was so sweet, I was hoping that it would pick up from there.

But... it's still a fantastic book.

Action packed beginning to end

Kerrigan and Derek are a force to be reckoned with. The two of them together in the writing and the reading these stories takes one to a different time and place. Thank you both for sharing your talents. I have only one complaint: Could we do without “G-damming” everything??? It does not help the story line or the character development.

Love this authors historical romances

Love all the historical romances from this author under any name. Such great stories such wonderfully conflicted characters who find absolute love. Wonderful sex. Keep writing more like this Kerrigan.

Wonderful!!!

As an Audible reader of approx 1000 titles, my preference for romance stories by Kerrigan Byrne and narration by Derek Perkins should weigh merit. KB and DP knock it out of the park every time. My only complaint is that this is a series and the length of time between stories causes me to forget some details.

I love how this story addressed the overweight friend, Cecil, and made her an amazing heroine. So many people can relate to this character, all the integrity, grit and loyalty found not only in her but how friends see Cecil.

Mr. Perkins is my all time favorite narrator. I melt at his every word.

This is a series not to miss, it is a well written " who dun it book" you could read it as a single but I don't recommend that as so many details are referenced from other stories. I can't wait for the next installment.

Kerrigan delivers again

You won’t be disappointed in this book! The Author delivers with her story and her words and the narrator is far and above any I’ve ever listened to. I cannot rate his performance high enough. Not only does he easily switch from himself to character to character, man, woman or child, but he REMEMBERS each and every voice across several stories and books. I love how his “Christopher Argent” voice in book 2 of her Victorian Rebel series, is the same in books one, three, five, six and seven! I love Kerrigan Byrne and I love Derek Perkins!!

Enjoyed the relationship development

Wonderful series, loved the narration and the relationship development between the characters. The intertwining relationships between the characters in this series is a bonus when going from book to book.

All historical books by Kerrigan Byrne is a must click for me. This story once again captured my imagination from start to finish. I loved the big, brutish, iron-willed Cassius. He keeps his emotions tightly leashed, but gets bowled over by the clever, strong and slightly overweight Cecelia. An amazing story with so much passion, intrigue, sexual tension and love to keep you listening till the end. As for Derek Perkins - outstanding! His Scottish accent for the hero thrilled me to the bone. I recommend reading book 1 in this series first as it will make this book doubly delightful.

Excellent

I have come to love Kerrigan Byrne books. I would always skip over this author, as I thought I would be "stuck in the highlands", but the writing is great and not a kilt in sight.
Her heros are flawed, but wonderful. The women are smart, strong and not just a beautiful doll in lovely gowns. I really like the way that the characters develop and change. Both the h/h transform for the better through their interaction. They learn from each other and you can feel their loneliness dissolve as they come together.
The story is exciting, interesting and full of delightful side characters that are so likeable. The twists and turns in this book keep you guessing and the end , which is never really in doubt, is worth waiting for.
I loved the first book in this series and this one is just as good. KB's easy flow and characters that are mature and intelligent is a welcome change from reading about some empty headed characters in HR.
The narrator is fantastic. The only character he could not do very well is the little girl...but you can't have everything! DP is the perfect voice for a book with so many strong men
I can't recommend this book enough. I am just sorry I have to wait for the last book in the series....hopefully it will be here soon!!
