Near perfect,a download of a map would have been nice.One was left with the story of will. Reading was done very detached.The agony was not overplayed.It would be nice to know if she still had faith

Beautifully read, horrifying, and haunting. This story will stay with me for many years. Unforgettable.

Heart wrenching story

This book gripped me like few others. The truth of the holocaust is real and vivid in this story. I learned much and felt the terror of evil while humbling bathing in my freedom.

At times I was moved beyond words.

The strength of this woman illuminates the contours of what it means to really be human. The love between her and her husband as it unfolds in the life of this woman and man was an unexpected gift but quite understandable. A must book to be acquainted with.

Exceptional

I know people who were friends with Gerda and Kurt. What remarkable people and story of pure endurance and perseverance. I read a lot of this time period and forever am deeply touched by the cruelty of humans to humans, but also the opposite. This story will stay with me always.

How can you have a narrator about the Holocaust who can't pronounce "Auschwitz"? Shame!
