Resumen del Editor

Al Clark is on a mission.

His people have suffered enough, and he is determined to find a solution. Somewhere, there is a place his colonists can live in peace and without fear. He wants them to accomplish more than just survive. It is a task he is determined to complete - or die in the attempt.

Five years after settling Avalon, the settlers from Earth are still struggling to live on a planet populated by dinosaurs. The deceivingly beautiful world has taught them that paradise comes with a price.

The welfare of each and every person under his care depends on his finding a better, more forgiving world.

They left Earth long ago, hoping to find paradise. Now - all they want is a place to call home.

Good Sci/Fi Adventure!

Well written, polished closure to Al Clark series. All situations in storyline we’re smoothly written. Narration was well accomplished. I would recommend this story to ages 15+ due to socially tense situations. A must-read for clean Sci/Fi reading

Luck or Faith ?

When I reviewed the first Al Clark audiobook I believed that the Author Jonathan G. Meyer had no plans on continuing the story which beside complaining of its shortness I have enjoyed so much.
Having no idea that he did after reviewing many other audiobooks Jonathan got in touch with me, asking if I am willing to review the third Al Clark audiobook Thera.
I was excited about finding out that the author have listened to the reviewers which like me loved the story but wanted more.
So I’ve listened and reviewed the second book and now I finished listening to the 3rd of the trilogy of Al Clark enjoying every moment without a thought of taking a break.
Now I’m hoping that from this trilogy a series will become noticing that the author have left an opening to do so by introducing a new race of beings the watchers and the indigenous creatures to the world that they ended up at, both we have no real knowledge about.
As usual John McLoughlin narration was flawless.
Was it luck or faith the discovery of the continuation to the first Al Clark audiobook?
It don’t matter, what did is that I’ve got to listen to them all and that each and every one of them was pure joy !!!

I fully recommend this audiobook to all.

I love this series.

I sure wish I could sit on a chair beside a beach with Al Clark, watching the sun go down and knocking back a few beers. I highly recommend this Audible book. Now for the obligatory: "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Happy Sci-fi

Al Clark: Thera: Al Clark Series, Book 3. An upbeat story of a colony of humans stranded on an unforgiving world. Written in an upbeat happy way. Al Clark is a great hero/role model. Very good entertainment, and I hope there are more Al Clark books.

Challenges of Colonization

This is the third installment of the history of Al Clark and the other members of the colony. The writing is energetic and the adventure non stop. Johnathan Meyer’s writing has become smoother with each installment and the story just seems to flow.
John Mcloughlin’s narration is smooth and unintrusive. I hope there will be more adventures to come.

Enjoyable.

Having to flee Avalon was hard, but with their numbers greatly depleted, they have no choice. It's up to Al Clark to try to find a place that they can settle. Having traveled to Thera, he feels like it's somewhere they can finally call home, but there are obstacles that he needs to deal with first.

I loved both 1 and 2 of this series and while I thoroughly enjoyed this, I didn't love it as much as the first two. I can't put my finger on exactly why, I just know that I wasn't as invested in this one. Don't get me wrong though, it's still a great read!

Once again, the characters are all well written and developed. Al Clark is still doing his best to help his people and he is finally becoming the man he should be with a new power source. I was thrilled to see him finally reaching his potential!! He is such a great character and one I won't forget easily. He doesn't have to face dinosaurs in this, this time it's something much more destructive... man, and mother nature!!

The plot was fast paced and entertaining, it just wasn't as exciting as the previous two. I was still invested in the overall story and held out hope they would find a place, I just feel like it was a lot tamer and not as gripping. I still enjoyed it though and if there were more to come, I would definitely read them.

In all, this series is great and I'd urge you to try it! I'm so glad I took a chance on it and look forward to more from this author.

John McLoughlin read this well and was clear and easy to follow. I don't know why the narrator was changed but this narrator was a little better than the first one.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Can the Colonists Find a Safe Place to Live?

I recommend reading/listening to the previous books in this series before this one. Book 1 is stand-alone, but this 3rd book immediately follows the action of Book 2. I mention this because my review contains a few vague spoilers.

At the end of Book 2, the colonists on Avalon have found the alien watcher station and the transporter cube to aid them in finding a safer planet to call home. Al is transported to pre-selected planets to explore the possibility of one of them being suitable. The start of Book 3 has Al searching those planets. He finds one that will do nicely, though already inhabited. Will Thera be their new home?

Jonathan G Meyer's 'Al Clark' series, a character driven story, is one of my favorites. The people are problem-solvers. They are pragmatic, logical and sensible. They don't let themselves get overwhelmed in a crisis. I like how the characters face a challenge and do their best to learn from each experience. Even when encountering disparate cultures, they want to co-exist and help one another, not conquer.

Meyer's worldbuilding throughout the series is well done. His descriptions of alien worlds puts a picture into the reader's imagination. The locations and inhabitants he depicts can be strange, and yet true-to-life.

The end of the book offers a nice conclusion to this chapter of Al's life. Since Al can potentially live far longer than others, there can be more obstacles for him to face in the future. But for now he is content to live with those he loves and cares about in their new-found home. I look forward to many more of Al's adventures by Jonathan G Meyer.

John McLoughlin's narration of this book is good. His interpretation delivers a great listening experience.

I listened to this audiobook as a free review copy that I requested. This post is my voluntary opinion of it.

Good story

the story was just as good as the other two book, but the narrator was different and I just did not like the way he narrated the book. Don't know if I will get the next book because of it.
