Tentacles extending from their fingertips, the infected clutch their prey by the head, curling themselves around the torso. Incapacitated by a jolt of cold electricity, helpless victims fall to the ground, either left for dead or turned themselves. Bodies reformed by an ancient power incomprehensible today, twisted mutations of humans and animals roam unchecked, drawn by tethers of light identifying the uninfected. They are driven and focused to satisfy an endless hunger for mind energy. Known by different names to the various groups fighting and fleeing from them, the infected are complex and varied. Some are unthinking berserkers. Others stalk their prey like adept hunters, calculating and patient. Beyond these mutants are The Nameless and other advanced variants with extraordinary strength and power to change the course of life on earth.
A chilling sense of fate overtakes the world as destiny aligns, setting in motion an unstoppable outcome.
