Resumen del Editor

What happens when all means of transportation and communication suddenly vanish? What happens when you can’t call for help? What happens when the only person you can rely on is yourself? What happens when an EMP sends Anchorage, Alaska back into the Stone Age? Find out now with this collection of pause-resisting EMP thrillers.

Anchorage EMP

For years, faithful police officer Eva Bekhor has toiled Alaska’s tough soil and raised a family of survivalists. The sudden explosion of an EMP bomb hurls her and the rest of country back to the Stone Age. Pushed to her limit, Eva must pull out every stop to keep her kin alive. Meanwhile, a foreign threat rises from the rumble of a crippled society. Winter draws near. Will Eva’s preparation be enough or will she be buried beneath the snows of chaos?

Aftermath

Separated from her husband and daughter, 39-year-old psychologist Naomi Baxter finds herself trapped on the streets of Philadelphia. The brutal February cold gnaws at her skin as she strives to reunite with her family. Having a keen understanding of the human condition, Naomi knows that she must find her daughter before anarchy consumes the city.

Lights Out

The nation's power grid has failed. Hundreds of millions are left without basic utilities, and the enemy responsible for the EMP's detonation now wreaks havoc throughout the countryside.

ridiculous plot lines

there are certain things that really annoy me when I listen to a post-apocalyptic type novel. at the top of the list is just totally ridiculous spot lines like the thought of an enemy sending tens of thousands of insurgents in to attack a country after they've launched an EMP which will kill 90% of the population. it's insane how many of these books use a stupid plot line. of course, in one of these books, that wasn't enough, so the author decided to throw in an earthquake. I was waiting for the plague of locust and a Planet Killer Comet to come next.
another big annoyance is that every other book seems to have to have a motorcycle gang as the evil bad guys in the plot line.
a bonus annoyance is when they have no concept of reality. every car on the road would not wreck just because the electronics glitched, and just because all the lights go out doesn't mean every car would crash at every traffic lighted intersection.
