"Far Out & Outta Sight" in the Far Far Away

This was a great introduction and induction into the ever growing genre of AfroFuturism. The modern day examples and the probing questions to draw thought and lingered contemplation were each a godsent. I have so many notes and plan to listen again ro catch anything I may have missed. As a black, queer writer, this is exactly what I have been aspiring towards and already writing in the voice of, but, as it was mentioned a few times concerning other creatives, I hadn't realized that's what this genre was called or that it existed AND has had, and continues to have, cultural weight and dynamic prospects. Transformative!

This book does not disappoint. It was thorough, well-researched and inspiring. Narration was top notch. Loved it so much I bought the paperback book to reference, while I listened.

Great Foray into the World of AfroFuturism

The author wrote in such a way did not talk down to the uninitiated.It was interesting and intriguing while simultaneously being comprehensive and cool.

Amazing, Engaging and Informative Read

I actually stumbled on this book by mistake and I'm glad I did. As someone that has been immersing myself in a lot of Sci Fi and fantasy written by Black authors (Adeyemi, Ireland, Okorafor etc.) as well as the Tuskegee Heirs comic, Black Panther and others, this book helped me have a deeper understanding of what Afrofuturism is beyond what I thought I knew (it's history, practitioners, it's purpose etc)

Great book! I think all should read as an introduction to Afrofuturism. I learned a lot. Highly recommend.

An absolute must read!

It took me a while to finish not because the book was hard to listen to, yet because I needed to listen to certain parts more than once. I love this book and will listen again.

Great summary of Afrofuturist and it's history. I enjoyed the examples which ranged from literature to music to media.
