Great for those who are ASD questioning.

This is a great listen for adults who are either questioning about themselves possibly being autistic or if they have been diagnosed and are researching the basic details of their diagnosis. Great information. And although I prefer to listen to books at 1.4 speed, It was intelligable and easy to listen to the narration.

More of a memoir than a how-to booj

This was a decent exploration of an individual's experience of autism, and valuable as such because when you receive a late-life diagnosis as I have, you need to read up on all manner of manifestations of it. But a word of caution - the author's first name, Una, struck me as female, and since I have learned that men and women manifest autism quite differently, I am most interested in the female perspective. Also, the author's parents were very intuitive about helping their son navigate his autistic ways despite never knowing about autism at the time, so the author had a head-start that most late-life autistics are not blessed with, so his perspective is less typical, I imagine.

Good information, difficult to hear

This is a fair top-level overview, although like most resources for autistic adults, much of the cited research has to do with autistic children. It can be helpful, but I was hoping for more adult resources. Also, some things didn't translate well from text to speech for me, such as the phrase, "we'll get to that." I thought the narrator's voice was very soft and their s's sounded like f's. I found that trying to follow their diction was distracting from the content.

Misleading

There is a saying - “If you have met a person with autism, you have met one person with autism”

This book has some good general information however I found it to be very misleading to those seeking information about themselves or other adults who are on the spectrum or looking into an ASD evaluation.

This book specifically touches on one person who’s experience was fairly simple, and didn’t need much professional intervention. What it does not do is touch on the fact that these methods may work for some, but most likely will not for the vast majority of people with ASD.

Whether you’re looking to get answers for yourself or someone else, be sure to look into other authors and experts on this subject in conjunction to this book, so you can be sure to have the most beneficial information for your situation.

More of an article than a book

There is little substance here, seemed like it was just getting started and it ended. This author could have actually written a book, this was a disappointing use of a credit.
