this was like every member of my family got their own chapter in a book.

Excellent resource!

I would have appreciated a male voice for men, female for women to help follow the stories easier ,but overall really enjoyed and appreciated.

Making life with autism work

This is a collection of success stories from a variety of very different people on the autism spectrum, selected and with introductions by Temple Grandin. The people are very different, their stories are very different, and their definitions of success are very different.

For some, success is holding down a job, however modest, and being able to support themselves. For others, there's considerable professional success, in technology, art, teaching, and business in various forms.

Some have found that marriage and romantic romantic relationships are not a thing they are successful at, no matter how well they do in other areas of life. Some have built successful marriages, though often only after being diagnosed as autistic, enabling them and their partners to understand their behavior better.

These are diverse, fascinating individuals, who have learned to understand and work with, rather than against, their autism. Having been recently been diagnosed as autistic myself, after a lifetime of trying to be "normal," with feelings of frustration and failure at how out of place I feel in many "normal" settings, while "hiding" in setting where geeks and nerds set the standard for "normal" and I feel far more at home, this definitely resonated for me.

These are the stories of people who "don't fit in," yet have found ways to live that work for them and let them be themselves.

Interesting and Insightful

I found this book to be very educational and it has made me more aware of my own similarities.

Valuable- Rare first-hand Insights

Lived experiences are candidly shared. Excellent testimonial from a variety of individuals who have lived through the highs and lows of unique lives.

Helpful for understanding my own challenges

Narrator is okay. The personal stories are important and show how aspies are all different. This collection is like a box of gloves of different styles to try on. If you think you may be aspie, none of these gloves may fit you exactly but you might find several that almost fit and be surprised at how other aspie-gloves are very different from you.

Interesting not help

Interesting stories of high functioning adults on and off the spectrum. Although interesting not helpful for me personally

I found the stories immensely helpful, the information could be life-changing. I wish they had chosen a better narrator. It sounds as if they chose a narrator with Aspergers. I appreciate the idea of being inclusive, but it was very distracting for the voice inflection to be so off.
