Acerca de esta escucha
When a manager is pressed to find a project manager for an important client, he looks to Rhett Sero, our to-be hero. He introduces Rhett to Heda Heldenmacher, a noted project management consultant. Heda introduces Rhett to the PROJECT methodology and spends seven days with him to prepare.
Designed to increase success, this book is for accidental and new project managers, beginning project management learners, and those exploring project management careers or looking for a refresher. Told in the form of a business fable, concepts are put in everyday terms and stories make it more memorable.
Everything you need to get started in an easy-listening book. Each chapter includes a project management tip, reading selections from the PMBOK® Guide, and additional learning resources. A set of more than a dozen ready-to-use templates is available online.
This is the story of the invaluable lessons Rhett learns transforming from Sero to Hero!

Historia
What's an accidental agile project manager, you ask? Anyone who suddenly and unexpectedly finds themselves responsible for an agile project. Maybe, the home remodel project turned out to be a little more complicated and complex than you expected. Or, your manager gave you a project management book and put you in charge of an important work project. It's not uncommon to see team leaders doing project managers' work, and they may not even be aware.

Developing and implementing a strategy is the central task of a leader. A good strategy is a specific and coherent response to - and approach for - overcoming the obstacles to progress. A good strategy works by harnessing and applying power where it will have the greatest effect. Yet, Rumelt shows that there has been a growing and unfortunate tendency to equate Mom-and-apple-pie values, fluffy packages of buzzwords, motivational slogans, and financial goals with “strategy”.

Historia
Over the past five years, organizations adopted Slack, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams in droves. Think of COVID-19 as pouring gasoline on the fire. The pandemic didn't start a trend, as much as it accelerated an existing one. Unfortunately, far too many of us mistakenly view these applications as Email 2.0. As a result, we are missing out on extraordinary opportunities to create more collaborative work environments, increase organizational transparency, reduce manual work, make our work lives less stressful, simplify core business processes, and much more.

We're now living in the project economy. As the number of projects initiated in both the public and private sectors skyrockets, project management skills have become essential for all leaders and managers. But despite this project boom, the failure rate remains extremely high. Why? Leaders have too many projects and too little visibility into them, and they lack the project implementation competencies necessary to deliver their projects successfully.

The pressures on organizations to change will only increase over the next decades. Yet the methods managers have used to strengthen their companies—total quality management, reengineering, right sizing, restructuring, cultural change, and turnarounds—routinely fall short. In Leading Change, Kotter identifies an eight-step process that every company must go through to achieve its goal, and shows where and how people—good people—often derail.

Good beginner info, horrible narration
This touches on key PM points with good examples in applying them. Told as a story, although the dialog is rather stilted. The narrator is Bailey tolerable, even when okayed at 1.2 speed. If you are new to PM, consider the book for easy reference.

Good content, dreadful narrator
l found the information presented by the author very helpful, but it took an enormous amount of effort to make myself listen to the whole audio book. The narrator is extremely monotone and stops/pauses in all the wrong places. It was an agony!! Tedious and frustrating don't begin to describe it!!
To the author: please get another narrator if you expect me to listen to any other book of yours. Thanks!!
