Dark but good

Dark and not for the meek or faint of heart but neither was the settling of this country.

Great story tellers with prefect narrator!

J. Rodney Turner is truly the best narrator for westerns. he has such a deep rich rustic cowboy voice.

Great Story

I enjoy this series. Preacher, the protagonist is a mountain man taking a group of over 150 women
West, 1500 miles over treacherous terrain to meet their future husbands. There is some Indians that are hostile. Even worst than that is gangs of white men that are thieves who want to take the women and use, abuse and then sell these women. They didn’t anticipate Preacher. He was leading these ladies and he was a forced to be reckoned with. Especially after they had been ambushed, and these men killed Preacher’s beloved horse. Once he got the ladies to their destination,he went out his criminals who took and killed not only his friends, but horse. Great book and excellent narration, don’t miss it!

Another great story from a master

Accuracy of information regarding weapons, living conditions and geography continue to be exremely good in this story. Plot develops quickly and characters are very believable

Reader is perfect for the part.

The Jack Reacher of the West!

Fun book, very entertaining. Wished The Lord’s name was used so much - a bit distracting.

Great story.

Sound was very difficult to try to listen to. I’m. 82 years old and I enjoy listening to a good western.

Wow, These books are just getting better and better as they go on. Love listening to Rodney’s voice narrate these books reminds me so much of Sam Elliott.

I really enjoyed this, my second of the Preacher series. I enjoy following along the routes using google maps. Having been near or around some of the locations makes these books even more interesting. I will be selecting another audiobook in the series, and one narrated by J. Rodney Turner.
The Preacher is that rarest of men, which can only be forged by such circumstances as those few who blazed trails of the western frontier.

Another great ride

I really enjoy this series, the only drawback is that the narators voice is so low that it is difficult to hear clearly at times when I am trying to listen while driving. Other than that it is great all around.

Always enjoy Johnstone’s writing. Story was most enjoyable. Never disappointed. Would suggest a listen. Never a waste of time or money.
