Resumen del Editor

Honest and direct presentation of the theological view and movement called Preterism. Preterism advocates that the end times occurred in the year AD 70. Often called by different titles such as covenant eschatology, full Preterism, or hyper-Preterism, this view is unpacked for the listener not only to know, but understand its adoption and effects.

About Preterism

Interesting concept that I had never heard of before. It isn't really something I can get behind.Decent narration by Devon Daltry.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Misrepresented and imprecise.

This book, although with a decent amount of history about preterism, doesn't give an accurate nor satisfactory explanation on why preterism (and even full preterism) is false. It's sad that a former believer in this movement refuses to form a detailed answer or rebuttal to the "preterist problem". Sure, I recommend checking his book out but don't expect to be convinced. This was a disappointment.

Partially Satisfied

The first half of this book was full of good info regarding Preterism.
Chapter Headings:
Ch 1 Types and Terms of Preterism
Ch 2 History of Preterism
Ch 3 Prooftexts of Preterism
Ch 4 People of Preterism
However, the second half of the book (Chapters 5-10) came across as a rant against Preterism.
The author sounded bitter regarding his past experience in Preterism.

Now what?

I’ve read the print version and today I listened to the audio. What’s the take away? Maybe four or more years ago I picked up Gary Demar’s book on Preterism and I became interested in this concept. It seemed to answer many questions that I had so I continued to read and listen to this doctrine. I became convinced this was the truth. Of course there were repercussions from my new found belief. I was told it was heresy but could not get an audience to discuss why. I was convinced I was right and what I’d been taught and believed was wrong. After reading and recently listening to Roderick Edward’s book I’m convinced I was in error in believing what I’d come to accept as true. The depth of research RoderickE did on the subject impressed me greatly and I found his arguments convincing. He stated in the book that he was not attempting to convince anyone whether they are right or wrong and that was not his purpose in writing. He left the conclusion up to the reader which is his approach in his other books as well. After listening I know I’ve got to move forward but as you can read from my title, ‘Now what?’, I’m not sure where to go from here. I do know that my meeting RoderickE through his writing that he was put in my life to correct my course and for that I’m grateful. I would suggest to anyone that is a seeker of the things of God that you should give a listen and see if you’re not spoken to. Possibly you’re a seeker and want to live your life with purpose and I think this book just might provide some direction for you.
