the reason for the title is because the main woman character seems to over extend herself so that the man she loves can accomplish his dream. I really like the storyline and the narration.

Tropical Steam

What made the experience of listening to A Venture of the Heart the most enjoyable?

The story was just the right balance of steam. There was an actual story here. I felt a true pull and desire to see Pax and Sage together. I was really looking forward to them finally finding their hearts.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ok, so he wasn't the main character, but I loved Brick. He just had such genuine heart and he really supported the main characters well.

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Klett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't believe I have. She was quite good in this one. Never once did I pray she would take a drink soon. So many other (especially the one that reads for Jane Castle) smack from dry mouth and it is such a turn-off. Elizabeth was very good with all the voices and there was a distinct difference. Also, she didn't make all the women sound old or the men rough.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I practically did read it in one sitting. I listened to 2 hours the first day and the remaining 3 hours as soon as I woke up.

I look forward to the next book from Amelia Judd.

Paradise

The narrator was fantastic and the story is swoon worthy. A story of following your heart and sacrifice. Sometimes we sacrifice even if it hurts the other person but what if the other person doesn't want it. Shouldn't they have a say in that sacrifice. Pax will find out the hard way, but will he get the girl back. I received a complimentary audio and I am voluntarily giving a review.

Love Rules

A very sweet story of a girl who works for a bank. She runs into a man who was her first love when she was younger. The bank sends her to see if he qualifies for a loan, can she keep her mind on business or will the attraction between them win out? A delicious romance.

Well written with insight

Finding one's own special path is a life-long journey and takes work to make it happen. Work to overcome fear, work to find what makes one happy. Mel Judd addressed the journey Pax and Sage took to find where their life together begins. I received this audio book for free and voluntarily reviewed it.

SUPERB START TO THE SERIES

A VENTURE OF THE HEART is the first book in the Silver Bay series. They will need to be read/listened to in the order of release.

Really? This is Amelia Judd’s first release? She did a superb job of it!

I love Sage … and her fear of snakes, lizards, and anything else that might be crawling through the leaves. Pax grew on me. He just needed to realize he could have his cake and eat it, too, when it came to his dreams and the dream in his arms.

There is no doubt who will be falling in book two…. I only wish I had it in my greedy ears right now!

The narration is perfect. I couldn't listen for hours - oh, I did! ... and I will again.

Pax could lose everything he’s worked for. He’s created the perfect resort, but he needs to convince a bank to loan him the funds he needs to match a buy-out offer. In walks Sage Somerset...

Sage has an uncomfortable history with Pax. She would rather not see him again, but her boss has sent her to the resort to determine if loaning him the money would be a sound business decision.

This is such a sweet story. Second chances, stepping outside your comfort zones, following your heart... I would love to see more stories from Silver Bay!

Looking forward to more stories in this series

This author is new to me so when given the opportunity, I decided to give her a try.
I am so very happy I did. It’s a sweet, at times touching, heartbreaking, as well as a heartwarming story.
This story centers around Pax Bennett and Sage Somerset. Pax , the brother of Sage’s best friend, comes from a wealthy family, but his relationship with his father is strained. Pax has left home and now owns an adventure hotel in Costa Rica. Sage is sent to Costa Rica by the bank that is considering giving Pax a loan.
The non-adventurous gal discovers that with Pax’s encouragement, she in fact loves nature and trying new things.
But things don’t go as planned. They part ways, both unhappy .
These two have issues to overcome. Will they find love, or will they end up going their separate ways, even if their hearts get crushed?
Aside from the main story, it’s also a story about family and the relationship within them . Families are not always easy. Parents words affect the child no matter what age they are . But with understanding and love , harmony can exist.
Looking forward to what else Ms Judd has in store for us.
I must add that the narrator of this audiobook, did an excellent job in her delivery.

Sweet Second Chance Story

Pax and Sage were always attracted to each other, but nothing ever came of it because Pax was too noble to ask her to give up the life he believed she wanted for his dreams.

Pax could have stayed home, had everything handed to him and run his father's business but that wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to make his life count for something, he wanted his independence and he wanted to build a life for himself at La Vida de Ensueño a socially responsible luxury resort he manages in Costa Rica.

His father could not understand him, there relationship is strained and although he loves his family he stops returning home on visits because spending time with Sage is just too hard. Sage wants security and being rejected by Pax has made her even more resolved to take no chances and always take the safe option.

Years go by and Pax is given the chance to buy La Vida but unfortunately all the avenues he tries to borrow money from say no. In desperation he applies to the bank his family use and they not wanting to upset his family send out a loan officer to assess La Vida's viability. The loan officer they send is Sage!

Once these two meet again the tension between them is high and Sage in an effort to "hide" from Pax invites his sister, her best friend to join her at the resort. Then she goes even further with her attempts to disrupt Pax's peace of mind. In all the years Pax has been at LeVida his family have never been invited to visit.

I can't really say anymore without giving "spoilers" which I never do so I will just say that this is a sweet and sexy second chance story set in a beautiful location, peopled by lovely characters and I found listening to this book to be very entertaining and have no reservations at all in recommending it to anyone who is a fan of this genre.
