Klavdiya dreamed of money and love. Her dreams died with her under a merciless rain. Leah, a Canadian detective with empathetic skills, and her team engage in a tedious race to find the culprit. Leah is able to read people's minds and sense their feelings and she makes good use of her skills. However, when she encounters Axel, her abilities are blocked and she doesn't know if she found her killer or merely a witness to the murder. If you like a detective story with compelling characters, then this is the book for you.

I liked the empathetic skills and how Leah uses them for her job, though I kind of thought her to be a bit of a power tripper especially toward her co-worker Mark. I get that she is Mark’s boss but she kind of demeans him a little. Just because she can sense his feelings and thoughts didn’t really give her the right to make him even more uncomfortable.
Axel totally gets Leah back though, hehe I like that he kind of put her on edge and that she didn’t have the upper hand.
The story I felt was just enough of a mystery to keep you involved though I think I would have liked just a little more backstory on Leah I might not have been so confused in the beginning.
The narration was pretty good my favorite voice was Axel all deep an rumbly that was fabulous. I wasn’t a fan of the Russian voice he did for the son of the victim but it wasn’t so bad that you would not want to listen and that is only for a small part of the book anyways.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
