A 40-year-old mystery may bring two lonely people together or tear them apart, forever.

When the Earl of Wraysbury rescues a young woman from a carriage accident, he can't resist her laughing eyes and wry sense of humor, even though their families have been locked in a feud for generations. Anemone may be achingly lonely but she's loyal to her family. When she wakes up after an accident in the strong arms of a handsome stranger, she's immediately drawn to him, and appalled when she discovers he's her family's sworn enemy, the Earl of Wraysbury. Neither Anemone nor the earl is prepared for the flaring attraction they feel, or for the escalation of the war between their families when a 40-year-old mystery triggers accusations of murder. Loyalty and the threat of a dangerous duel are destined to tear the lonely lovers apart unless they are willing to defy their families and take a chance on love.

Pretty good story, but the narrator had a difficult time keeping up with the male characters voices. She she great at the beginning of the book the around chapter 10 on the men started sounding so similar to me. It sort of made me want to stop listening! I trudged on because I wanted to hear the ending of the story which was eh.

Story was good, but narrator wasn’t!

Anemone being pronounced as “an enemy” was so distracting that I kept losing my place. I know it’s a difficult name but phew! Otherwise, great series so far.

Mispronunciations are distracting

The reader mispronounced Anemone throughout. it drove me crazy. It's not so bad when a reader mispronounces a word here and there, but the heroine's name? Very irritating. Didn't anyone involved in the recording know how to pronounce it properly? It's really too bad because otherwise she is a very fine reader, but the constant mispronunciation spoiled it for me.

Anenome?

I liked the story and characters, the Archer family is very likable. Wit and humor are plentiful and mystery is around the corner in every story.

Lovely and sweet.

I love this series. I've gotten as many as I can in Audio books. There's always a mystery to solve, danger, romance and family ties. I really enjoy when either the hero or the heroine thinks they are not in the same class and strive not to fall in love. They usually fail miserably, for love wins in the end. Than you Amy Corwin for great books.

Who knew a rose could cause so much trouble?
