He enjoys visiting with Laurel, who seems like the little sister he never had, but his feelings for Laurel change to something much deeper. Can Willie convince Laurel that he can give her a better life - even with so little to offer?

I’ve read a lot of books by this author

Ive read several books by this author and this book was harder to get into than most. Unless I missed it, was the mystery of who stole the money solved? It didn’t feel as though Laurel and Willie had enough time to build their relationship before they a couple! This author is one of my favorites this just was not my favorite book of hers.

Good Read

I enjoyed this story and the reader. Easy to listen to and the story is simple, uncomplicated and touches many issues we face daily. Two thumbs up!

Enjoyed the history!

I enjoyed learning about Atlanta cotton expo. The story was a bit slow moving. The ending didn't seem to bring closure to all the issues. I'll definitely read Kim Vogel Sawyer's books again.

Wonderful

I absolutely loved this story! I live near Atlanta and found it so interesting and want to do some research. The characters were perfect and Pilar is one of my favorite narrators.
