Elizabeth is also resolved to remain silent and hold fast to the secret behind her refusal. Once they are together, however, it proves difficult to deny the intense passion that still exists. Fury, grief, and profound love prove to be a combustible mixture. But will the secrets between them be their undoing?

Oh My!

Shocking turn of events throughout the storyline. It was quite evocative. To learn of so much treachery, deceit and wanton behavior and still have ODC have their own HEA even if it was slightly marred at the end by Lydia's elicit confessions.

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book and Ive purchased alot of P&P variations. This is one of my favorites. If you read the original you know that Colonel Fitzwilliam is a side character we dont really get to explore. In alot of variations he is Darcys closest friend who is usually there for comic relief. He's attracted to Elizabeth but he needs to marry well so he easily steps aside for Darcy. I loved seeing him as someone who's jealously and resentfulness builds up over time. Even though I already guessed the twist at the end it was still enjoyable. The narration was wonderful but the epilogue was kinda weird and not needed.

Good story, excellent narration!

Mr Frost had me doubled over in laughter at times from his droll reading of the story, and Colonel Fitzwilliam’s storyline was entirely unexpected and surprising. The Darcy/Elizabeth story also had several twists that made for a very enjoyable listen. Highly recommended.

I love this book and the brilliant narration brings it to life!

This book is heavy and full of anguish for ODC. Their HEA and the unexpected plots twists make all the heartache worthwhile.

Could Darcy consider a 3rd proposal?

I must admit, my initial reason for listening to this P&P variation is that I have now subscribed Harry Frost's voice to how I imagine Darcy's voice. I did come to really enjoy the story. It is nice to see a different villain. This villain's actions, although cruel, were believable. Of course the same irritants are thier long lasting negative impacts on the Darcys.

Amazing book. One of the best ever of them!!

5 minutes into the book and I was blown away, I could not put it down. There was so much nail biting, intrigue, and many WTF moments. I truly believe this is the best out of all the spinoff books (about 30 so far) if your are a fan. Must read!! Great voice, pace and flow.

Great story

As any of Amy D’Orazio’s stories this was amazing. So well written and well performed by Harry Frost I was hooked. Loved it. Great Jaff.

Great once you get past the misunderstandings

Don't get me wrong, this is a great book. My only complaint (well, my first) is the amount of "willful misunderstanding" in the first few hours of the story. I know that's what the story is about, but it is VERY WILLFUL. Like to the point that I kept thinking, why don't you just talk to each other for more than a minute and you would figure this out. So, the first few hours of this story is missing the clever banter that I have come to look forward to in JAFF. My second complaint is that one of my favorite characters is evil in this variation. That's just a personal opinion.

I enjoyed the last quarter of the book, it is more in style with the type of JAFF that I prefer. I LOVED the Viscount and his wife in this variation, I wish they would have been major players in this book. I found myself laughing out loud at them.

What a great story!

I loved this book. It takes you on an journey with highs and lows that drive strong emotional response. Love this Darcy; Love this Elizabeth. I've read and loved all of this author's books but this is my first audio version from her. I'm totally going to enjoy listening to the rest of audio versions.♥️♥️♥️A+ Totally recommend!

This Book Should Come With a Warning

Just be sure, before you start listening, that you've paid all your bills, turned in those reports the boss was looking for, and haven't left the kids anywhere that requires you to remember to fetch them. Then, don't expect to get anything else done until you've finished. I didn't know what to make of the title, which didn't grab me, but of course, D'Orazio is always a skilled author and Harry Frost is my favorite P&P narrator, so I knew it would be entertaining.

"Entertaining" is way too tame a word. Not only is it aptly named but it is un-put-downable. It builds to a peak of suspense and then, just when I thought I was going to have to skip ahead to find the answers to my *burning* questions, all of them are answered. OR SO I THOUGHT. Just do yourself a favor, get it. If you're a P&P aficionado, and you think you've heard everything...Nope. This is next-level. Wish there was a movie version.
