Such a deep and meaningful book

Sometimes I forget Julie is a fictional character. She is that real in my memory, and so are the atmospheres in the book-their home, the view. I actually started this book on my honeymoon and because of the subject matter put it down for a couple of years. It was so real, and painted such a searing portrait of the main character's grief, it was too much for me at that time. This is a book I will read again and again. It's a lifetime book, and opened up a much larger perspective on marriage, and the soul of a woman. And in case that is just too much for some, I could simultaneously see this as a delightful animated short or feature! It's message could be accessible to many.

Sweet, sad, funny and ultimately very uplifting story of grief and healing.

CJ MacGenn spins a yarn of magic realism in her jewel of a book that offers a meditation on grief and recovery in a gown-up fairytale of sorts - entertaining, inspiring and instructive. Just like in life, healing laughter erupts alongside moments of sadness and grief.

Christin Ayotte skillfully brings a host of fleshed out characters to life - human and otherwise - with her sensitive, insightful, and often-hilarious reading.

Listening to this beautifully read story was a truly magical experience. A poignant tale of life, love, loss and light that stays with one long after the last word is read. This story resounds and sparkles like an exquisite jewel in sunlight.
