It's midnight in Granite Cove and only the sea clams are open. When a murder occurs in this sleepy New England fishing village, the townspeople are stunned. Not only that, the victim wasn't some waterfront brawler, but Vivian Klinger, Ph.D., a glamorous, influential psychologist from a wealthy Chestnut Hill family.
Rose McNichols, reporter for the Granite Cove Gazette, investigates. Who killed Dr. Klinger, a woman who had everything but a sense of humor?
Take an audio visit to Granite Cove, a no-frills town with plenty of heart but no Starbucks. Come for the fish sticks and stay for the murder . . .

1. HAVE YOUR DICTIONARY HANDY OR GOOGLE SPELL DICTIONARY AS YOU WILL NEED IT. I KNOW MOST WORDS, NO ONE EVER SAYS EXCEPT IN BOOKS, BUT SHE CAUGHT ME WITH A FEW NEW ONES. 2. AUDIBLE PICKED THIS ONE OUT FOR ME IN THEIR HOME PAGE, A PROFILE OF MY LIKES. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB IN PROFILING ME, I REALLY LIKED THE BOOK AND WOULD NEVER HAVE FOUND HER AS SHE IS A NEW AUTHOR OR TAKEN THE CHANCE ON HER. AUDIBLE SAID I WOULD LIKE IT AND INDEED THEY WERE CORRECT. TO MY GREAT SURPRISE, I DID.
YOU SEE I HATE PROFILING, SOUNDS LIKE THE GOVERNMENT. TRUST YOUR PROFILES, THEY ARE ALMOST 100% DEAD ON.
GRANITE COVE IS SACRED GROUND.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
yes - the e-book, not the audible! How did the narrator detract from the book?
Stephanie Murphy has a nice and pleasent voice - so why why why does she nasty things to it. Like speek through the nose (I'm certain she holds it close for that!) for the voice of Doris or speeks in growls for male voices..... Sorry - I could not end the book on audible. Glad I got it as e-book.Glad I got the e-book too!

How could the performance have been better?
The narrator's performance was only good with her regular voice. The character voices she used were cartoonish and unconvincing. Young women sounded like they were hacking out lungs and the male voices were amateurish and fake. I would expect this kind of voice performance from an ordinary person trying to read a novel to his or her children. From a professional, I expect more. I love audiobooks and this is the first time a narrator's poor performance with her side characters made me not want to finish the book.Narrator created cartoon voices for characters

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I'd already read this book when it was first released, but listening to it added another depth. Stephanie Murphy has a wide range of voices which made the story even more entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny.Entertaining
