The great story

This was a great book. The story and characters were consistent and enjoyable. The plot was not one that I have read 100 times in other books.

Awesome

Wonderfully written characters with a story that stimulates the imagination. I thought it might drag since the length was long, but the story flows well. Narrator was excellent.

Gorgeous story

What a romance! I loved Poppy and Roisin's story. The time they spent together and the longing was palpable. I loved the audio performance as well. Great accents.

Perfect

Had everything I was hoping for. Sapphic romance, fantasy, suspense, vivid world and characters. Excellent read.

Beautifully written romance

If I find a book about sapphic vampires, I will most likely read it, even if it turns out not to be perfect. With this book, we are very near to perfection.

I loved the way this book was written. It is almost poetic at times. The love between the main ladies is eternal, beautiful, and at times, painful. This book has more substance than most queer romances, and I was genuinely sad when the story ended, because I think I could spend another century with Poppy and her chosen family. All the characters are fully developed people with back-stories, and I feel like every word in this book had a purpose. The story was both light and heavy, with the right amount of steamy moments.

I'm yet to see if the author of this book has written anything else, but if they have, I'll certainly read everything.

Incredible Audiobook

So cute, delightful, and a sweet read! The accents were so wonderful to listen to, which really pulled me into the story.

Vamps

This story was good. The beginning had an amazing world panted for the reader and builds the MCs character. Part 2 was kinda slow. The next parts of the story picked up and was great. This story covers about a 30 year time frame. It has a bit of spice and a HEA.

Boring

Takes forever to get started. Characters rehash the same thing over and over and over again!

Transvestite Literary Victim

Vampire books often hug the edge of taboo sexuality. The edginess is not overt, and that is what creates the wonderful tension many readers have come to enjoy. Unfortunately, the author fell victim to the latest fade to include a transvestite in the story. Rather than adding to the storyline it seemed a needless addition. Unsurprisingly, more a nod to the woke community.

For those of who have continued reading...
The story began in an interesting way, and I was lured into the characters world! Then, rather than allowing the tension to propel the story, the author chose to drop the veil with jarring, explicit, and unnecessary details...one of which, was a male character's insistence, his genital's should be called a female di*k; A transvestite, of course. I'm not a prude. Neither the language, or subject, were a problem for me personally, I just thought it was unnecessary. It seemed a forced presentation of subject matter. The story lost its ability to create the wonderful seductive nature vampirism lends so easily to a story. It's too bad so many authors feel the need to include unnecessary details.
