My name is John Taylor. I'm a PI with a special talent for finding lost things. Excalibur chose me, and to find out why, I'll have to consult the last defenders of Camelot, a group of knights who dwell in a place that some find more frightening than the Nightside.

Not what I normally listen to, but my husband has me hooked! I love John Taylor, Susie Shooter, and all the other well-defined characters! It would be great to see this series made into movies.

I have loved all the nightside stories. This one did the Arthurian legends and I really liked his take on things. it was new and different while still having a lot of the same elements. Bravo!!

Really enjoyed this one. The description of what would have happened if Merlin accepted his role was truly brutal

Introducing X, the next Big Bad, he's the scariest, mostest evil, Big Bad that ever badded.
X postures and speechifies.
John and Suzie defeat X in seconds.

Then, John and Suzie travel, and find Y, an even Bigger Bad, he's even scarier, and evil-er.
Y postures and spechifies.

How many versions of Merlin, Arthur, or the Elves were introduced? So Many.

Per usual in the series, the baddies are barely fleshed out and easily defeated.
Unfortunately, unlike some of the other books, this one is light on interesting creatures and gods,
relying instead on us to be impressed with name dropping from Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake.
It was quite dull. Also, what's with the guy with the manbun on the cover?
