Finally the tide turns..
I loved both these books, but they are dark and unrelenting. The action is constant and makes a 22 hour book seem short. Somehow the author puts his protagonists in impossible situations and gets them out again without resorting to any kind of gimmicks. I have to admit I had a slight case of literary PTSD listening to these books back to back until finally the hero rises and the tide turns. Totally worth the wait though and unlike many books a happy ending is never a foregone conclusion.

this story was amazing, I love where he is going with it. I hope the next book holds up!

The dialogue, yikes.
The dialogue sounded like it was from a Saturday morning cartoon. I didn’t really care about any of the characters. I barely got through the book. The idea for the book and overall story is pretty good, but the dialogue is just so cringe and the characters constantly do things that don’t make any sense . I won’t be listening to the third book.
