Marcus knew he was beat. He knew the moment he saw her, sword in hand, beckoning him to enter the courtyard. The butterflies in his stomach urged him to decline her invitation, to run while there was still a reasonable chance to get away. He couldn't give in to them, even though his master had warned him against challenging his father and the empress.
The stones crunched under foot as he entered the courtyard. All his life he'd been groomed for this very moment. He was born for it and trained night and day in the hopes that one swing of his sword could end the war and bring peace to the galaxy.
Jim A. Shaw, author of the series Secrets of the Damned, was born with a love of words that eventually grew into a desire to write. This is book one of his new three-part series The Legend of the Seventh One. He currently resides in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada. His work can be found online on Amazon and Audible.
