Secrets to reveal, legends to unravel, and a love to fight for....

Peter Rathbone, Duke of Compton, is already struggling to handle the responsibilities of his family home and his grief over his sister Delia's death when he's astonished by an unexpected visitor. Life is about to get even more complicated....

Miss Ada Grandison is desperate to throw off haunting memories, and she's sure the duke can help her find answers to the questions her friend Delia left behind. She brings a note that Delia claimed would change everything for the Rathbone family. Peter can't quite bring himself to believe the legends he's heard all his life, but something about Ada inspires him to hope....

A fun lovely romance

This is exactly my type of book- light funny and not too steamy! Thank you Jane Ashford and Rosalyn Landor- well done!

Excruciatingly Exhausting

I have enjoyed the series until this book. The hero could never be described as swoon worthy. He comes off as a pre pubescent school yard brat. Runs hot and cold one minute to the next. Saying sweet things then on the next breath slams a verbal fist down. Scary. He may even be insane. I never get the sense he agonizes over his love of the heroine. He finds her interesting and fun to talk to and that’s about it. It is very possible he has not decided yet whether he is even attracted to women. He seems to be the token male in a gaggle of silly girls. The whole thing comes off as a Scooby gang.

The book drones on and on and onnnnnnnnn about how dilapidated the castle is. About how desperate the Duke is. The heroine throws herself at him in the most wanton ways and he doesn’t pick up on it. In her mind, she is going to marry him, when he has not even the pondered the idea. The thought of courting her has not even hatched.

Just too much to dislike about this story. The narration is top notch as always. I’m sure the gifted and talented Rosalyn Landor made the best of this job. A real stinker but if you are as prolific as she is, there’s bound to be one or two bombs in along the way.

Worst characters - EVER

The only thing that kept me going with this book was to find out what and where the treasure was. Not even the great R Landor could make this book worth the credit I spent on it. IMHO a story/book can tolerate strong, opiniated stubborn characters as long as other characters balance the strong ones. Not in this book....no balance.

What a bratty group of girls

This book was hard to get through. Every one of the young girls were so irritating.
