Thought-provoking and entertaining

This is a wonderful book that I wanted to listen to straight through. I loved the premise that the protagonist dies and must relive one day in his life before he can move out of limbo. The book examines his life and he discovers that many of his ideas about the people in his life were not quite right. It kept me guessing all the way to the end. I've already recommended the book to several other people, and will continue to do so. I received a free copy of this book and am leaving an honest review of my own free will.

Amazing thought provoking read! Walter has just passed away and is in limbo (the wait before heaven) he gets to choose a day to relive , this is a emotional breakthrough for him as he goes back to different times in his life abd sees through a new set of eyes, he will learn things about himself, his family that will help him go on with his heavenly life with a full heart .Beautiful story of hope and what could be beyond the realm of reality /afterlife.

Beautiful, touching story

I am a bit ashamed to say that I requested and received a copy of this audiobook from the author without paying too much attention to either (the book content or the author!), but ended up very happily surprised. The story is beautiful, as was the narration. And in keeping with my failure to pay attention, I was convinced while listening that the author was male. The narrative voice (an elderly man's) is so true, so real, that I concluded it had to have been written by a male. Ha! I trust that most other listeners pay more attention to details than I do, but rest assured that the narrative relayed is completely convincing. Walter Zawislak is looking back at his (supposedly) wasted life with regret and shame, waiting only for oblivion. His first encounter with the after-life is just another annoyance he has to get through, and he loses patience with the attendant shepherding him through the experience. That attendant forces him to choose a day to relive, but he gives excerpts or samples of a few days for Walter to choose from. The result is a poignant, touching examination of a life lived during hard times, often with good intentions but sad outcomes. But the overall take-away from this beautiful book is one of quiet joy. I evaluate books by whether or not I feel enriched for having read/listened to them, and this one falls definitely into the positive category.
