Everything about him felt too good to be true. And one thing that I’d learned quickly was never to trust a man who promised he could make your wishes come true, even if it was something as simple as a Christmas wish.

This is a steamy novella that will likely get you banned from the nice list if you listen to it. Intended for mature audiences that like their holiday romance with a little bit of spice.

extra spicy Christmas novella

Everly and Jared. Steamy, spicy Christmas story. Everly needs a date for her office Christmas party and has been stood up again and again. Jared overhears her ex, also her boss, picking at her and steps in. What follows is some silly, lots of steamy, and some hiccups along the way.
Jared is the type of hero who goes out of his way to show respect and its so obvious throughout the story. It makes him extra swoony.

I prefer dual narration but this narrator did a pretty good job of distinguishing voices between m/f.

Jared and Everly

Jared and Everly are the sweetest meet cute ever. She has obviously been stood up and her ex shows up at the same restaurant and begins antagonizing her. Jared spots what is happening and steps in to save her from him. They begin a fake relationship with very real feelings. It becomes very steamy. The narration was really good. My only question was trying to figure out Jared. Unless I missed something, I never got a feel for his actual job and how he would know so much about the club they went to. Otherwise. I really enjoyed the story.

Perfect fake boyfriend

This was a quick whirlwind romance straight out of a romance novel!! 🤣
Jarrod came in like a white knight to save Everly the embarrassment of telling her ex-boyfriend Tom that she had been stood up by her blind date. He overheard Tom and his girlfriend making fun of Everly when they realized she was alone in the restaurant so Jarrod stepped right in and pretended to be her boyfriend. Ahh this fake boyfriend turned real feelings was such a great novella. I loved how Everly grew stronger and stronger in Jarrod’s presence.

I didn’t care for the narrator’s impersonation of Everly, but all the other voices she did was great.

Short and sweet!

The narration was great! The story was super cute and I loved the underlying message about abusive relationships and the struggle to overcome them even after you leave one. Samantha Baca always comes through with amazing stories. Will definitely look for Mary Jane Meloy narrations in the future.

Spicy Christmas Novella

I really enjoyed this sweet and spicy novella. While Everly and Jared’s relationship starts out fake things get hot during the holiday season! I would recommend this for a quick holiday read with a happy ending!

Steamy holiday romance!

I loved this holiday story. Samantha Baca is a favorite author (Blame it books). This little gem didn't disappoint. I love the fake date trope and the added steamy bonus! That was an unexpected pleasant surprise. The narrator was great as well. I wasn't familiar with her work, but she was so good doing all the voices!

steamy swoony goodness

I loved this story. The meet cute, the fake dating that quickly becomes not fake. The chemistry and the slow build. Jared is top notch book boyfriend material.

This was such a great story, but the narrator was seriously annoying. During the female main characters chapters it seemed to go from mediocre to terrible. She mumbles and slurs her words together and I found myself focusing more on how annoying her voice was rather than the story itself sometimes.

Fun and quick holiday novella!

A Christmas Wish was a lot of fun and really quite STEAMY for such a quick listen! You couldn’t help but feel sorry for Everly when she was stood up, right in front of her smarmy ex-boyfriend (and boss)! Then in walks Jared who saves the date, literally! Thus begins their fake dating romance as they try to navigate their very REAL CHEMISTRY!
