Tugged at my heart

I loved Ella from the first book but, this book made me have conflicting feelings about her. I admired her strength but I also found her a bit too rigid and “cowardly” I was a bit frustrated by the self talk/doubts and denial that played on for a long time. I love the happy ending but I found myself ready to skip through parts so I didn’t have yo listen to more self sabotaging. My neighbor, who also happens to be a nurse and was a soccer coach for her kids team, was diagnosed with MS in her late 30’s. I was trying to recall how she managed this at the early phase.. it was hard seeing her but, happy that she found gardening therapeutic. We loved her yard. She is much better now.. she said the illness improves as we aged.

Big change in style

I’ve read all of the previous books, and loved them. Some of the challenges the characters went through were frustrating before, but this time it was just too much. The main character, Ella, was frustrating beyond reason. Maybe that’s realistic, but a huge change from the previous books in this serious style and made it hard to want to keep reading. I only kept it up to see how it all ended.
