I am an Army veteran, author, and advocate for preventing veteran suicide, who wasn't sure how to share my story of overcoming my plight with veteran suicide, so I decided to share my story by writing a book. Therefore, I have to ask you, the listener, the question is my book?
A poem? Or a memoir? The true answer is, it depends on the listener's interpretation once the listener has listened to 81 Days: The Hidden Suicide.
This book was written to encompass my own writing style, seasoned with hints of my favorite author's prose, not their words.
81 Days: The Hidden Suicide contains: My words. My story. My life—all of which I am sharing with listeners
This book is the rawest and most authentic form available for public listening, derived from my plight.
Also, 81 Days: The Hidden Suicide was written to be a source of encouragement for other veterans to get out to tell their story in their own way or more individuals feel safe asking for help to help prevent veteran suicide.
A few words of advice and encouragement for you after listening.
Firstly, everyone in behavioral health will tell you no one can help you if you don't tell someone when you're suffering.
Secondly, no one should suffer from mental health disorders, trauma, or thoughts of suicide/attempts in silence.
Thirdly, remember: "Closed mouths don't get fed, when they're hungry, unless they ask for help!"
Ask for help. Don't be afraid to tell your story. Be blessed. Listen, and enjoy. Long live!
