Resumen del Editor

While your body is doing the important work of growing your baby, 50 Things to Do Before You Deliver nails down exactly what to do to prepare for your little one’s big debut.

First-time moms have plenty to be grateful for - and plenty to worry about. Centered on what’s most important to expecting moms, 50 Things to Do Before You Deliver narrows the vast field of pregnancy advice to 50 specific, proactive steps for confidence and peace of mind before baby arrives. Unlike other pregnancy books for first-time moms, this book includes only what is necessary and helpful and leaves out the rest.

Written by Jill Krause - creator of the award-winning pregnancy blog, Baby Rabies, and mom of four - 50 Things to Do Before You Deliver arms moms-to-be with actionable advice and tools that are actually useful.

Voiced with honesty, humor, and encouragement from a mom who’s been there, 50 Things to Do Before You Deliver offers:

  • 50 trimester-by-trimester tasks covering only the most important things expectant moms need to focus on
  • Relevant, creative tips for using tech to track, document, and learn about pregnancy
  • Judgment-free advice from other moms, OB-GYNs, and midwives - including guest contributions from Amy Morrison of the blog Pregnant Chicken, and Bryn Huntpalmer of The Birth Hour podcast

There are countless pregnancy books for first-time moms out there - but 50 Things to Do Before You Deliver is a practical guide that will empower and prepare you during pregnancy and beyond.

Very Positive and Supportive

If any of my friends or family read this review, don't worry, I'm not pregnant. I wanted to read this book to gain any additional information about labor and delivery on an emotional scale if there was any to be had. Happily, there was.

This book was fun, very upbeat, and yet still very down to Earth. I really enjoyed it and I desperately hope I remember I have it if I ever have children or if my best friend gets pregnant. I think it would be very helpful in prep and keeping calm.

There were parts that I felt were excessive based on my own needs so that will not drive my rating down at all. For Example, there is sn entire chapter on mocktails. As someone that doesn't drink and doesn't get the addictive quality of alcohol consumption, that chapter left me bored. I am glad it is there for drinkers though and I hopenit serves them very well.

It's a fun, quick book. It keeps things light, realistic, and informative. It also enables you to ask questions, especially on an emotional level and deal with the answers. It's a very good book and easily a favorite to me.

Great (and quick version) content and suggestions

I really enjoyed this book! Though it was listed as meant for first-time Moms, that is not a requirement. This is my second pregnancy and child, but the first was nearly 10 yrs ago! In the ever-changing word of blogs, apps, and advancing technology and baby gear that mostly did not exist last time around, the suggestions here are what helped me most! But also it was a great reminder to all that I was currently and about to be going through.
Even being a second time Mom, I really did learn so much that I think I missed out on the first time within this book alone. Every pregnancy really is different, agreeing with the author here. This book made me laugh a lot, which was great! I also teared up numerous times in getting real with the stresses or worries or the "you will be responsible for another life" moments in the text. I loved how this book was so real and put it all out there and was never preachy. The author embraces "doing it your way" and is so informative at the same time!
Thanks so much for writing this book and sharing all that you did and from all others that you did as well!

Not practical

She talked to much about social media which is really not the information I was looking for. Most of the tips are super trivial. I’m listening to it now and she’s talking about “bring coffee to the nurses”. Not that I don’t think nurses deserve to have coffee. If you’re into posted you’re whole life on social media you might like this.

Helpful info but annoying

Not a big fan of all of her advice and how she generalizes how women should be but some of the stuff was a little helpful. I’ll probably trade this book in for something else - I just don’t identify with this women so it’s hard to want to take her advice.
