I received this audio book as a complimentary copy. Jody orders a machine which provides him with different fantasies ranging from mild to severe BDSM including body altering. I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed how Jody increased the intensity level each time he used the machine. I found myself thinking, what will happen next...

A word of caution...this is not a love story.

Xavier Roman's performance was a perfect voice for this book. He made me believe I was right there with Jody.

Holy Virtual Hotness

Wow...holy hotness! This is not a love story, more like an experience.

Jody decides to embark in the virtual fantasy world and experience life as a submissive. Each experience is more intense.

As he experiences more, he starts learning more about his desires and fetishes.

Enjoyed the experience, although the ending was not what I expected.

I'm posting this on behalf of my colleague, S F Hopkins, on whose behalf I bought it because she lives in a country that would not permit such a purchase. This is what she says:

The first thing that needs to be said is that this is not a book for the kind of person who says, “Well, I might go for that or I might not”. If you’re going to enjoy it, you have to be a committed enthusiast for BDSM from the point of view of the dominated male. If that is not for you, I don’t believe this book will be, either. It’s not the easiest thing for me as a woman to get into; we’ve struggled a long time to get men to treat us as equals and I, for one, don’t want to replace female subjection with a male version, in life in general or in bed.

That said, if you do think you’ll find that viewpoint to your taste, you should enjoy the book. It’s an amusing idea and well done and the narrator’s style is well suited to the material. This is a well produced audiobook.

A man who believes that, sexually, he’s just like most other men buys a device that first examines his deepest and most hidden desires (what the author calls his core sexuality) and then allows him to act them out in fantasy. The result is that he discovers that his most deeply held fantasies have nothing in common with the rampant Romeo – in fact, he’s a submissive who wants nothing more than to be mentally and physically dominated by women and to give up his maleness completely. The rest of the book shows the acting out of these desires and, as I said, this will either be to your taste or it will not. If it is, you’re unlikely to find many better books.

Brilliant Virtual Experience

This book had it all and five stars just won't do it justice. The vivid way the author articulated every detail is awe inspiring. Combine the perfect amount of kink with the broad sexual fantasies and you have an amazing book. I don't have the words to articulate how much I enjoyed this elaborate tale.

Jody saw on the net that he could buy a virtual reality mistress for $129.99 plus shipping. When he got it, he found censors and probes came with it to transport him into sexual fantasies. As time passed, he would set the buttons on higher intensity and his fantasies got stronger and longer. I loved the narrator.

3.5 Strangely Appealing Stars

Not something I would normally pick up for my self but I am glad I got the chance to listen.
I finished this a few days ago but I am struggling with how to write this, because I liked her fetish for rubber but she is a bit of an odd ducky. Yet I liked it.. Ok see I am confusing you.

I even wrote a note and said the one CBT, ouch not sure how that would be pleasurable but she seemed to like it. Fun to listen to. My mind is Blown.

Take a chance what could it hurt :) I am glad I did.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I'd recommend it to friends who are curious but not sure of their sexual desires. The book presents a number of femdom fantasies where the narrator (Jody) gets involved. Uninitiated readers will experience the varied femdom scenes and Jody's reactions.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Virtual Reality Mistress?

In Chap. 8 Jody is with with Catherine. He selects his next Mistress, Marilyn. She requires him to undergo body modification and become a sissy slave. Although Jody has reservations about the idea, he acquiesces to the VR Mistress because he doesn't have to search for someone who he can trust. He agrees to go along with Marilyn's orders and finds he is thoroughly aroused by his treatment at a dungeon party. By dialing up to the highest levels of Femdom, he realizes how decadent his fantasies are.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Jody goes with Veronica and Denise to Mexican restaurant where a woman leads a muscular man on to the stage for a display of an exciting session. Jody gets aroused and directs his affections to the two women.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not have any extreme reactions from the story as the author presented many of his usual scenarios in a interesting way from the point of view of a naive spectator, Jody. After each scene, Jody reflects on what he likes and what he's not interested in. And yet he keeps pushing up the intensity level for the next scene!

A safe way to explore

Jody is sleep deprived, having difficulty with his insomnia. So, he surfs the net. One night he discovers an interesting product for sale – the virtual reality mistress. This looks like the perfect thing to while away the midnight hours and also to safely explore his sexual desires. Please note, this is most definitely erotica. The virtual reality mistress is a machine with lots of probes that the user attaches or inserts here and there. The user is then pulled into a virtual reality where the fantasy can be lived out in all the senses.

This erotica is not for the faint of heart or the hesitant. If you are easily offended by sex, then this might not be for you. The book consists of one erotica scene after another. The virtual reality mistress is a plot device that allows Jody to easily maneuver from one fantasy to another. There’s no messy emotions or concerns with pregnancy or STDs. This is just straight up sex scenes.

In all the scenes, Jody is the recipient of actions that are for the woman’s pleasure. Most of these are some form of BDSM. The first few scenes start off rather tame. As the book continues, the scenes get more and more creative. In fact, there are some sexual acts that I had not heard of. I definitely wonder if some of them would be pleasurable to either party involved, but Jody enjoyed them and that’s what counts. I want my main character to be having a good time in an erotica.

The writing focuses on the pleasure, the anticipation, the exploration of the unknown. I liked this aspect of the story. Jody certainly has some emotional reactions to some of these fantasies as his comfort boundaries are pushed. Of course, the virtual reality mistress becomes something of a drug to him and he keeps diving back into the fantasies, pushing those boundaries ever further. Personally, I found several of the scenes titillating. Not all the fantasies were for me, but I was able to sit back and enjoy the story, seeing how Jody reacted to the fantasy. I think this book is a fun way to explore your own boundaries.

Narration: Xavier Roman started off just a ouch hesitant but quickly got the swing of it. His voice is rich and his pacing excellent. He definitely added another dimension to this book with his narration providing that emotional anticipation and pleasure to many of the scenes.
