Resumen del Editor

You’ll never have a future until you learn to let go of the past…

Cole’s not looking for someone to love him. He wants to be used and discarded. That's much easier than getting tangled up in emotions. And there’s no way he will ever let another man take control. He tried that once and nearly lost himself before he got out. Now, he’s focused on running his coffee shop and getting a little action when the urge strikes.

Bear moved to Annandale looking for a fresh start. The way things ended with his last boy, he’s shied away from a crucial part of who he is. As the head bouncer at Club 83, he’s used to seeing beautiful men every night. When he meets Cole, he can’t deny the chemistry between them. The more Cole insists he doesn’t want Bear to be gentle with him, the more compelled he is to teach Cole there has to be a balance for their dynamic to work.

Will they be able to overcome past hurts so they can admit they need one another?

Fight to Finish

Stereotypey and I couldn't understand what the actual conflict was. I could call this "low angst" but I think it was trying to be angsty. I found myself wondering why everyone was upset. not that I didn't get why the "conflict" caused so much stress, but I couldn't even figure out what the conflict was! Too much talking, not enough showing.
Also, this is basically the same storyline as the last one. Narration was just Meh. Overall, not quite irritating enough to quit, but enough to wish I hadn't paid $ for this.

Great addition to the series!

The narrator did a good job with this installment of the series.

I truly enjoy low angst romance. The MC’s in the story both have past relationship trauma. The bond they form helps ease the pain of the past. It was wonderful to see Bear and Cole slowly begin to trust each other.

Great listen.

Cole and Bear's story is such a great listen. They both have a hard time trusting so it is great to see how their relationship grows is so beautiful. Then Christopher Rain does such a great job in narrating this story.

Learning to trust

Cole was not looking for anything permanent, neither was Bear.
But, in Cole, Bear recognized the scarred man that needed someone to take care of him.
They both have issues to overcome and need to learn how trust in order to form a relationship.

This was a good tale to listen to. A story of two men who weren't looking for that special someone but found them anyway. The nurturing dynamic that they develop, works perfectly for them.

Christopher does a fantastic job with the narration. The emotions were brought to life splendidly and each character was discernible with their own unique traits.

Buckle up for the roller coaster of emotions

Awesome storyline and very developed characters. A great second part to this series.
These two broken men come together and work on healing old wounds. Others inflicted so much pain for each man they have all but given up a lifestyle they both were born to live.
If ever anyone deserves a happy ever after its people who overcome mental abuse. These characters take readers on a roller coaster of emotions.
Worth listening to!

Loved It!

This is the first one in the series that I've listened to and now I am eager for the rest. This is a spectacular daddy/boy story with a perfectly bratty boy and a perfectly caring and nurturing daddy. Cole and Bear each have trust issues because of past relationships but they are so perfect for one another and each one is exactly what the other needs. I loved watching their relationship grow and flourish. The narrator is truly wonderful and really helps bring the characters to life. He really enhances the overall enjoyment of the story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

Cole…

Cole did not deserve Bear at all. He was so bipolar. Bear worshipped the ground Cole walked on and he refused to believe it. Bear is forced to walk around on Egg shells hoping not to piss off Cole over little insignificant stuff. Then when Bear left to take his sister home, then he’s like oh I miss him and want him back but honestly he just misses what he does to his body. And in the end, he still didn’t trust him. How are you comfortable being in a daddy/boy relationship and calling him daddy but still not trust him.
