I liked that Elle was given plenty of time to heal from the brutal assault/rape that she doesn’t remember before any kind of romance happened. Her body needed to heal even when her mind didn’t. That being said, the flashes of memory were few and far in-between and very frustrating.
I also found it odd she was having flashes of a man who she knew she loved, and who loved her, but she continued on with her relationship with Cade and Merrick. As a woman, I didn’t find that believable. I think it would have been better to have her resolve the past before she committed to her future, after all, who’s to say she’d still want to be with Cade and Merrick when/if she remembers or learns about this man?
In closing, I feel the need to warn any future readers – This book ends with a cliffhanger and there is NO SEQUEL. The title has trilogy in it and I’ve read the plot line to book 2 and the title of book 3 but as of this date in 2019, 6 years later, neither has been published, nor are there any release dates (on the official website for the author)
