Jude Shea's life is turned upside down when he rescues a dog he names Joe. I love the way that both characters are strong in their own ways and complement each other. This is a strong characteristic of Mary Calmes books. The narrator was perfect ❤️

This is a third listen to Mary Calme’s The Guardian so I think it’s time I left a review. Calme has tapped into my fantasy world of a heroic man-shifter who never had love and tender affection come to life when he crosses from his Tolkienesque world into our modern one. Eoin is saved by another fantasy man, androgynous beautiful Jude with magnetism in spades. She writes the story of these fated mates complete with war, separation, and reunion with enough steamy scenes to fog up the windows in my car. Yum!
Narrated well by talented Sean Crisden, the book is short enough to be listened to in one go.
