I absolutely love a romance with a curvy girl in it. This book does start out slow but it does pick up. Carla Lopez does well with the narration. Charlotte is a badass. Might not seem like it to begin with but she is. Nix is secretly a teddy bear. They just make sense together. Always remember that nothing is as it seems.
This book is a definite relisten for me. Remember to check your TW list as this book does touch on some dark topics.

This book was so good that I actually forgot that I was reading. The story flowed so well and was so entertaining that it played out in my head like I was watching a movie. Charlie and Nix had great chemistry together after Nix was willing to give in. I was really confused at Nix's role in the whole thing. There were hints that there was more to him throughout the story... but I couldn't figure out what it was until that bombshell was dropped on us.
Charlie is going on an undercover mission to find the boss of a trafficking ring. But this ring has different sections. There's the trafficking side of it, necrophelia that's happening, and the porn side of things. Charlie gets in on the porn side of things and tries to find out whatever information she can on the main guys to try to uncover who the boss is. Nix is basically her boss on the porn side of things. However, when Nix meets Charlie, he instantly knows there's something different about this girl and he wants to protect her at all costs. But protecting her will put both their lives in a lot of danger.
The twists in this book was so good. I'm usually pretty good and at picking up on what's going to happen in a book, but this one surprised me all the way through. It was dark and touched on dark themes, but it is so worth the read. Definitely give this book a read!! I enjoyed it so much that I wish I could read it again for the first time!
The narrator did an excellent job!!! Her pacing was done really well and didn't have any weird breathy noises. Also, her character distinctions are very well done. I enjoyed her narration of the story!

Charlie, a rookie cop, dives headfirst into a sex trafficking ring as part of an undercover operation—and that’s where she meets Phoenix, a man who's been deep in this world for years. His motives, however, aren’t what they seem. Phoenix is in this dangerous mess not for profit, but for revenge—hunting the person responsible for abducting his cousin.

While Phoenix’s twist wasn’t entirely unexpected, part of Charlie’s backstory definitely caught me off guard, adding depth and emotional layers to the plot. If you’re looking for a romantic suspense with heart, danger, and two strong leads fighting for more than just love, this is a great pick.

Her by D.V. Fischer is a captivating story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I often found myself saying "just one more chapter" instead of going to sleep. Charlie and Nix provide the reader (or in this case the listener) with such delicious tension from the very beginning. This was the first book that I read by this author and I have since read a bunch more. I love them so much that I am now working through the audiobook versions. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a great story. Definitely check the trigger warnings if needed.

I read this book before and i absolutely loved the story and was so excited to listen to it as an audiobook. However, I just don’t think the narrator was the right person for the job. Several points though out it seemed as if she was bored with narrating the story. I did love when it came to the part with the Russian character, that the Russian accent truly sounded Russian. The story itself is absolutely amazing, I just don’t think the narrator was the right choice.

Omg this was so good. The plot really had me in a chokehold. I finished reading the book in a day and a half, it was just that good. I figured out one plot twist but the other plot twist had me shook. This book does deal with some pretty heavy topics so definitely check the trigger warnings before diving into this one. Would have loved if the narrator was at the very least dual. Single narration just doesn't hit the same.

Charlie goes undercover to help put a stop to a sex trafficking ring. Feenix is in charge of the porn side is almost immediately touch her and die immediately after meeting her..the twist!!!

Her is a rollercoaster of emotions. It’s full of suspense, it’s dark, and a twisted romance. This book revolves around human trafficking and is a very dark subject. But DV does it so well. The writing was done so beautifully. You can’t help that it breaks your heart reading about how some of the people are treated.

Charlotte or Charlie is our curvy FMC. She decides she wants to go undercover and bring down this human trafficking ring. Her boss does not think she is ready and neither does her partner. But Charlie is determined to prove herself. She has been mourning her late husband and now she is ready to get out there. She is strong and going to do whatever she needs to do.

Feenix or Nix is our MMC. You want to hate him because he is involved in this business, but the love and protection he has for Charlie, you can’t help but fall in love with him. You can tell underneath it all, he is a good guy.

The chemistry between the two starts from the very beginning and the spice between them is off the charts!

DV Fischer continues to write stories I get lost in. This one is no different. Charlie needs the money and her hook up knows exactly where to take her. Phoenix is hooked from the moment he sees her. Who is she? Where did she come from? How does he know her? So many questions and the answers are going to blow you away! Read the trigger warnings!
