"No one spins a story quite like Lora Leigh” (Night Owl Reviews) - and when it comes to her “highly charged and carnal” (Fresh Fiction) Breed novels, nobody does it better. Now, the number one New York Times best-selling author tells a story of two Breeds who are united by animal desires, only to find it’s vengeance that stirs the mating heat...
He was a shadow, ever shifting and insinuating, able to blend in everywhere and anywhere. The elusive ideal conceived and created by the Genetics Council, he went by just as many names as he had identities - the last one being Gideon.
Now calling himself Graeme, he hides in plain sight, terrifyingly close to his goal. A rogue Bengal Breed, he has loyalties to no one but himself. And he has a need for vengeance that surges hot and swift through his veins. Graeme plans to exact an extreme and ruthless vendetta against those who wronged him - Breed and human alike. All will suffer his wrath: Those who created him, those who pretended to love him, and those who betrayed him. That includes the one at the center of it all: a seductive, enigmatic woman helpless against the man whose desire is just as desperate as his need to destroy. And he’s on her scent...

I think up until Gideon I had thought one of the most intriguing characters created by Ms. Leigh was Jonas. I would be very hard pressed to choose after a Bengal’s Quest. Can I just say wow? Talk about a very complex character. And for such a complex alpha male you better believe you’ll get a similarly complex heroine. You’d have to be a rather complex woman if you had a resident ghost co-inhabiting your body.
Thirteen years ago a group of Native American shaman performed a ritual transforming her from Fawn into Claire, a recently deceased girl from the tribe. A bit of plastic surgery had her living the lie for years. But unlike her friend Honor, Fawn never lost herself in the new identity. She didn’t end up in a loving, nurturing family. Instead, she ended up in the care of a traitor. And while Fawn may have been her legal name, it wasn’t really her either. She was Cat. She was G’s creation, a Bengal waiting to emerge. Her life was a ticking time bomb waiting for revenge to happen. She was also on the genetic councils most wanted list.
I have totally loved this series from the very beginning. I wait impatiently for each new release. This time, I did something a little different. I decided to get the audible edition and listen while I read along. I can tell you that Brianna Bronte does an awesome job narrating. She has a great range in her voice and excellent skills in expressing the characters. Again I was totally awed by the skills of Ms. Leigh. I can’t wait to read To Wake a Sleeping Tiger.

Loved the character Gideon and of course Jonas and the others. Didn't really struggling to finish but the wining vixen was a little annoying. Can't wait to see what's next.. I love the breed series.

If you could sum up Bengal's Quest in three words, what would they be?
Repetitive dialog, whiney female, interesting male characterWhat other book might you compare Bengal's Quest to and why?
Graeme and Jonah do make an interesting team. What does Brianna Bronte bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The audio version adds more personality to the characters.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
A couple of past storylines had nagging questions answered in this Book which was great. Also for every mystery solved, a new, unsolved one appeared to provide numerous new possibilities for future stories. The basic story continues with the same group of Native Americans and breeds in New Mexico as in the past few books which extends this story arc but leaves us still wondering about the Virginia pride and pack and the group in Colorado. The main female character in this book though was probably my least favourite. We are told how strong she is but often she comes off as whinny and bitter. Also there is a lot of repetition in an attempt to build suspense or to hammer in a point? But it somewhat off as filler and excess dialog to provide a more complete explanation. Hope the future books bring a male narrator to join Brianna Bronte because there are just so many characters she can be expected to do before they start sounding alike and because we are now invested in numerous characters you expect to have them interacting with conversations.
Looking forward to having more of the stories revealed like Khi and the Revier brothers, Claire and Lisa's spirits and their new potential hosts- the lioness and eagle Keenan, Lincoln, and of course Cassie , Ashley and Brim. Maybe a few of these could be packaged as novellas so we we wouldn't have to wait so long between stories. Also maybe a couple future stories could give us more Graeme and mat Kat into a worthy partner along with more Cullen/Judd.
