It wasn’t too long ago that I would have told you I was too smart to fall for the friends-with-benefits okie doke. I would have said it was a setup that was doomed to fail each and every time. I had friends who had been there, done that, and got the keyed car and broken windows to prove it. I didn’t need to experience it for myself to know that I was good on that. That’s what I would have said before if anyone wanted to know my opinion. In a way, I still thought like that, except....

I’d known Aisha since I was 13 years old and if you would have asked me, I would have said I knew her pretty well. That couldn’t have been further from the truth, and when she revealed some things to me - things I had somehow missed over all these years - I found myself uttering words I never thought I’d say. It was just an agreement. You could almost call it a selfless act on my part. I was just being a good friend.

The thing was, I forgot who drew the lines in the sand and before long I found myself caught up in the more-than-friendly benefits with my very good friend.

This was short and sweet. I love the characters and the narration was great. I could listen to Emmanuel Ingram voice until the end of time. Can’t wait to listen to book 2❤️

Emmanuel is my book bae so whatever he narrates I’m instantly attracted to! He’s funny real sexy n adds his persona to the stories he narrates! 😍 Story was cute but needed more to make it better

Okay, no cap—this is THE BEST short story I’ve listened to on here! There’s a certain way you have to tell the story in a shorter novel, I think, to get to the romantic end everyone’s looking for without over-relying on sex scenes or forcing how the couple evolves. In my opinion, this story struck that balance PERFECTLY! Great writing, compelling storyline, funny dialogue...and of course, Emmanuel’s narration was *chef’s kiss* (and getting better, it seems!)

Definitely hope Chencia has more to give us in the future—they’ve got a new fan in me! 😁

This is my first work from Ms. Higgins and LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, my girl SLA-A-A-YED this novella. Emmanuel Ingram was complete perfection as Shad, he had me hooked with House’s Should’ve Been. Such great writing, such talented narration! Whew!

For the win!!!! 🙌🏽🔥

I have mixed feelings about this book. I absolutely loved Emmanuel Ingram‘s performance of the story. The book was well written, but it’s not my cup of tea. I am absolutely not a prude and I’m used to lots of four letter words in the books that I read. However, this story used language regarding women that I found somewhat offensive. I’m guessing that my negative reaction is at least partly due to the fact that I read mostly male male romance these days so it’s been a while since I’ve heard lady parts and other things mentioned in such a crude way. I did finish the audiobook and I ended up liking the story well enough. I read it as part of a reading challenge.

Thank God For The New Narrator! Kudos to Chencia Higgins for re-releasing Benefriends with a new narrator! Emmanuel Ingram did such a wonderful job! It was like listening to the book for the first time. He brought the characters to life and made the audiobook much more enjoyable. Aisha was the true definition of a lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets. Shad was only too happy to match her freak. These two were hot hontey! Benefriends is a quick lunchtime read but, it packs a big punch. Well done Ms. Higgins!

This book was so funny but with serious content; every day life. Anything Emmanuel narrates is good so far. I love to laugh and he does not disappoint because he brings the characters to life. Great novella Ms Higgins!
