Bay went from tortured human captive to exotic alien pet in a heartbeat. Zargonnii warrior mercenaries are like nothing she has ever seen before. What do they want from her? The unearthly world Bay is taken to is fascinating, frightening, and a lot different from Earth. Zargonnii males have never seen a small, vulnerable female. Zane finds himself saddled with a bald, unusual pet Earth female. Females are anything but vulnerable in his world. This female is an oddity, and for some reason his new pet brings on his mating cycle. Zane is mortified until he discovers this intelligent pet of his has a secret - she's no pet at all. It takes everything in Zane's power to control the temptation of his kind's breeding habits - until he can control it no more.

I love science fiction romance especially those that have humor in them. There are several points of view which adds to the story telling when all of the aliens think Bay is a pet with her own kitty litter and the only one who figures it out is a child. Bay is a refugee from Earth who thought she was escaping the disaster Earth was becoming and ended up in the fire from the frying pan. Captured by one nasty alien, he mistreats her and sells her to the Zargonni to get rid of her. With a damaged throat, she can't talk and let them know she is an intelligent being and they treat her like a pet. And that's just the beginning of the story.
The world building is great. The auditor does a good job. I've listened to this story on more than one occasion. It's a favorite of mine.

I love this author. The characters are hilarious, the story is unique, and there is never a lull. It’s a shorter book, but I didn’t feel like it was missing anything.

The heroine in this spinoff story from the authors New World Series is a human woman who was on Ulsee, the planet humans fled to when Earth began its self destructive ending. She was captured by a Tonan, a vile cruel species and was beaten and starved. A Zargonni warrior named Blue decided to buy her as a pet for his nephew, not realizing she was a sentient being. Bay, the heroine ends up in the unearthly planet Blue takes her to, in his brother’s house. Then things start to get interesting! Well worth a credit. Narration was well done.

This is a new author for me and way happy with this book and series. If you like alien romance a must read/listen.

Bay’s treatment at the beginning of her ordeal is awful, but once she is purchased as a pet, things are pretty funny. I enjoyed this story, and I liked the reader. The secondary characters are interesting and worth having their stories told.

This story expands the New World Series with a Zargonnii. The Unearthly World series is about the Zargonnii characters and C.L Scholey does a fabulous job of describing this new scary as all get out world. She introduces the differences between the females and males along with creating questions why things are the way they are.

Zane is a warrior who has a young child who lost it's pet. His brother Blu bought Bay from a Tonan thinking she was a pet. Due to injuries and unable to speak their language,thus unable to verbalize her intelligence Bay is treated like a pet. Zane's son figures things out and helps her. Eventually everyone finds out and more issues are created.

This science fiction galactic story is fun and entertaining. I really liked both the story and the narrator. The narrator did a very good job with the voices. You could hear the different voices and they were not annoying screechy or make you want to turn off the book.

I definitely liked this story and wish it were longer. I received this book through the romance package and it was worth it . I do however own the actual ebook already so if it was cheaper I would buy it.

Cute short story, nothing too in depth but a fun listen. Would love some longer books to get into this world a bit more. Narrator was fine and I will definitely be going for the next book in the series. Interesting to see how a civilization lives where the women are stronger than the men to the point where they can't live together or even speak. Interesting dynamic.

While I enjoy this genre, this one could have been better. There were parts that were unique and entertaining but some parts were a bit silly. Will I read the next book in the series? Yes.
