Steve Magness researches, writes, speaks, and coaches on health and human performance. He is the author of the best selling books Peak Performance and The Science of Running. His third book, The Passion Paradox is out in 2019. His writing has appeared in Sports Illustrated, Wired, Outside, NY Magazine, and Forbes. As a coach, Magness has guided 4 athletes to Top-15 finishes at the World Championship or Olympic Games, over a dozen athletes to qualifying for the Olympic Trials, and 4 athletes to top-10 finishes at a World Major Marathon (Boston, New York City, Chicago). He currently serves as the cross-country coach at the University of Houston and is the personal coach to over a dozen professional athletes, including Olympians. He consults with both business and professional sports teams on performance, culture, and innovation. Steve holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from George Mason University and serves as an adjunct professor at St. Mary’s University (UK).
