Early Years Creative nonfiction novelist Sean E. Jacobs was born Sidney E. Struss in Eagle Lake, Texas, to parents of German descent. The middle son of three boys, Jacobs always loved reading, which was fueled by his grandmother, the Reverend Ada Slaton Bonds, the first ordained woman minister in the state of Louisiana. Jacobs married the love of his life, Barbara Jean O'Dell, in 1977, shortly after graduating from Texas A&M University. A few years later he became the proud dad of two wonderful daughters, Vanessa and Stephanie. For ten years after their birth, he spent time in genealogy, writing numerous local history books. After several hundred pages and years and years of research of the Smith Family History, his book writing skills evolved from local history books to creative nonfiction novels. Jacobs turned to his literary nonfiction storytelling skills, fueled by years and years of research and began writing down, with pencil and paper, a story that he'd been working on since 1980. With that first story, of course, history was set in motion. Jacobs produced several manuscripts over the next year or two, received rejection letters from publishers, and then, in 1995, sold his first book. The Author Emerges Jacobs loves writing true adventurous stories. Apparently he has a lot of pent-up epic tales he wants to release on the reading public: In 2014 he unleashes four novels in creative nonfiction. Despite the sheer volume of local history books, Jacobs didn't find his way into the spotlight until his debut novel in the creative nonfiction genre, ADVERSITY - Face to Face, hit the book stores across America. The book was an instant hit, launching his best-selling series, The Faith Chronicles. Success comes through Jacobs' approach, transforming real people in history from typical nubile heroines and cardboard-cutout heroes into more down-to-earth, realistic characters. His newest novel depicts the Robin Hood of Texas, Sam Bass, the most notorious outlaw who ever lived in Texas with a release date of November 7, 2014, available from Amazon.com.
