I grew up in England but currently live in Virginia. I began my writing career as an editor in children's publishing. My first publication was a Scholastic book entitled, An Egg, the Inside Story, about the life cycle of a chicken. My second was a Marvel comic book. Since then I have published over 60 children's books. I have also taught language arts and history and love to talk to children and adults about creative writing. I write fiction and nonfiction. I particularly enjoy writing about mysteries, history, and humorous nonfiction. I also love to travel. In 2012, as part of a Semester at Sea program, I spent a month at sea, visited 10 countries in Central and South America, and ran writing workshops for adults and children.
