Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s in the small Central California agriculture town called Turlock, the author’s formative years were sealed in concrete. Paul McCartney and Wings' huge hit “Silly Love Songs” and the U.S. Bicentennial celebrations in the hot summer of 1976, were two epic and memorable events for a wide-eyed ten year old. After graduating from Oregon State University in 1988 with a B.S. in Political Science, the author circumnavigated the globe on many bodies of water with the U.S. Navy to include the Pacific ocean in Japan, the sea of Okhotsk, the Middle East (Red Sea), the Caribbean, the Atlantic, the Adriatic and the Mediterranean. Based out of Norfolk Virginia and living in Virginia Beach, the author began his culinary journey sparked by family recipes. After thirty years into his food journey, the author feels compelled to share and encourage others in their food journey with the new book, the Forgotten Chef.
