Hazel S. Muller's "Adventures In Art" has taken her through making stained glass windows and lamps in Arizona, to oil painting and teaching oil painting in Oregon, California, and Nevada, to silk painting in New Mexico, calligraphy and bookmaking in Oregon; now gourd painting and pine needle basket weaving back in New Mexico. Hazel is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington with a BS degree in Occupational Therapy. She is a Certified Instructor with Alexander Art, Inc. In the late 1980's her art work could be seen at many “fine arts” shows on the Pacific Coast. Her work was featured at a one woman show at the Golden Gnome Gallery in Benicia, California in 1987. In 1989 her work was in the Las Vegas Artist’s Co-op Gallery; her unique journal books in their matching boxes were in a Keizer Art Association Gallery show in 2005. In 2008 they were sold in the Santa Fe, New Mexico Museum. She is also a published poet and writer; has served on the board of the Oregon State Poetry Association, also set up and maintained their website for several years; was an active member of Capital Calligraphers in Salem, Oregon, editing and publishing the quarterly newsletter and maintaining their website; has taught paper arts at San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico, and was a founding member of Three Rivers Women’s Collective. Creating is what keeps me sane: sharing what I create keeps me happy.
