When Cynthia Ehrenkrantz was eight years old, crawling on the floor to pick up pins with a u-shaped magnet in her Uncle Goody’s tailoring and furrier shop in North London inspired her to write The Pinn Family Chronicles —a story about a family of pins living between the floorboards of a dressmaker’s shop. She has been writing ever since but began publishing only recently, after raising three children and retiring from a successful career in the specialty food industry. Her work has appeared in Gourmet News Magazine, Simple Cooking, Jewish Post & News, riverSedge: a Journal of Art and Literature, and How Not to Greet Famous People: The Best Stories from Ducts.org. A resident of White Plains, NY, she also performs her work at regional storytelling events and sings with the Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus. Seeking Shelter is her first published book.
