Adam A. Neal, M.A., is currently a Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (#108784) and Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (#5482) based in Los Angeles. He has worked in the community agency setting as well as the educational setting, providing psychotherapy to adolescents and adults managing issues ranging from depression and anxiety to sexual abuse and spiritual crises. As a public speaker, he has lectured on mental health topics such as mindfulness, mental health first aid, trauma, and secondary trauma to such organizations as 2-1-1, Interface Children & Family Services, Jewish Family Services, the LA Woolsey Long-term Recovery Group, the Ventura Long-term Recovery Group, Ventura Unified School District, the Coalition for Family Harmony, the Conejo Coalition for Youth & Families, and Oxnard Family Circle. Adam completed his master of arts (M.A.) in Counseling Psychology at Sofia University (f/k/a The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology) in Palo Alto, CA, with an additional certificate in Creative Expression, and he currently serves as adjunct faculty. He has contributed writing to The Therapist (July/August 2019), Connections (San Fernando Valley CAMFT newsletter), the AAMFT-CA newsletter, Psychology Tomorrow Magazine, TravelLady.com, and AssociatedContent.com. In addition, he has sold creative writing for multiple greeting cards to American Greetings and has contributed writing for use in statewide standardized tests through Inksplash, an educational publishing company based in New York City. Adam has been the editor of four books, including a compilation of essays by mental health professionals regarding sexuality, How Sex Heals, as well as the final edition of the TOOLBOX Primer by Dovetail Learning, an educational company based in Sebastopol, CA. He has also served as editor of several master's theses and doctoral dissertations, mainly in the areas of psychology and business administration. Adam is passionate about supporting individuals in their growth, especially in the areas of sexuality and spirituality.
