I know without a doubt when I am in the mood for dark and unhinged lauren is the first author I think of.
this one wasn't any different. the way she finds the tiniest miniscule way to add humanity back into the I humane male leads is an art.

This novella, especially the narration by Kayden Lukakis & Angelina Rocca. I def had a moment of what am I reading, then along the way my heart broke for Cole. And by the end I just embraced my unhinged self. Absolutely LOVED this one!!!

if you are looking a good quick book i recommend this one. please check tigger warning before reading it does have some tough subjects. i love the book Lauren did a amazing job for this novella you get why he is the way he is and what lead to his life falling apart. even though you are not suppose to fall in love with someone like that your heart doesn't know but wants what it wants

I am surprised how Lauren was able to include so much depth in this novella. It worked really well and I liked the book a lot! I think the narrators were a great duo for these characters. They did an amazing job with the emotions of the MCs.

I listened to this audiobook in 1 go. The narrators did a fantastic job and I thought they performed their roles well. I loved the book. I have been meaning to make time to read Lauren Biel books and I wish I had made time sooner. This dark romance did not disappoint.

I really liked this one. Duet narration but only from the male POV. I actually wouldn’t have minded if this one was a bit longer. Pulls you in from the start and keeps you intrigued all the way through.

Lauren Biel really did an incredible job making us feel for the villain, even though his actions were so dark. The way she delved into the haze of drugs and how it affects someone’s behavior was both chilling and fascinating. It gave such a raw, honest look at the fight between good and evil.

The entire story is told from his POV, and honestly, I think that made it even more intense and gripping. She didn’t shy away from the horrors of addiction and its control over people, which made it all feel so real and unsettling. But of course, there’s a HEA at the end!

If you like dark, twisted stories that are quick but hit hard, this one’s definitely worth checking out. It’s the perfect read for anyone who enjoys a good, deranged tale.

~I swear Lauren is the queen of spicy novellas! She is one of my go-to authors when I need to get out of a reading slump because she never disappoints me! This story is told in male only POV. If you love a book that makes you question your morals this book did just that! The narration for this novella was amazing both narrators did a phenomenal job at bringing out the emotions of these 2 characters! Kayden is a new to me narrator & I thought his voice was the perfect fit for Cole. Angelina is one of my favorite female narrators & she voiced Vanessa perfectly. This book is dark with heavy themes so please check your triggers prior to reading.~

The Perfect Spicy Novella

Pretty good short story about Cole breaking into Vanessa's home after he commits murder. He had it rough when he comes home and catches his wife in the middle of the act with another man. He spirals out of control and becomes addicted to drugs. As much as I hate drugs, for some reason, it is easy to root for Cole. It is a shame the book was not a little longer so we find out how things worked out for them down the road. Kayden Lukakis and Angelina Rocca did a very good job with the narration.

I’m a true crime and dark romance junkie so I loved this. Truthfully, I wish the story had been a full novel instead of a novella so we could’ve gotten more backstory on Cole, what happened that lead up to his wife’s affair, where him and Vanessa ended up after he came back. If it had been a full novel, I still would’ve wanted the story from predominantly Cole’s POV. It’s hard to find books that are primarily from the MMCs POV and those are my favorite for the most part. I’m glad Lauren wrote this with very little from Vanessa because I’m a dark story like this, I feel like she would’ve come across whiny and repetitive which would’ve ruined the story for me.

Overall, great story. If you like dark romance with the MMC being a fked up man, highly recommend.
