Publisher's summary

Don't mess with the Daddy.

Atticus Heisler is a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. As the owner of Heisler Security, he's familiar with intrigue and danger. As a Master of Avalon, he's learned the intricacies of the submissive mind, and what makes a sub quiver. But underneath the mask of contentment is a loneliness he's not sure will ever go away.

Resigned to a life of watching his closest friends find their perfect matches, Atticus does what he does best—help those who need his assistance.

Paralyzed from the waist down when she was just a kid, Alicia McGee has a history she doesn't share with many. With her parents' blood on her hands, a life where no one wants her, and a disability that turns her into a burden to everyone, she is prepared to die, alone and unloved.

When Atticus comes to her rescue, the unspoken crush she has on him sparks into something more. As secrets unravel and her past spirals into the present, can the impossible become possible in the arms of a Daddy Dom?

Atticus’s story!

These people at Club Avalon are one of the best ensemble casts that I love to hang out with. I have been waiting for Atticus's story since the beginning of the series. He has intrigued me with his caring and way he loves to help. When he rescues Alicia, it's heartbreaking. This poor girl has been subjected to abuse no one should ever have to deal with, but with her daddy, Atticus close by, helping her, she may just be able to overcome some of her past. There is something about this couple that is special. Though it's age play, Atticus treats Alicia as an equal, helps her through her decisions and overcome her fears. Alicia is an extremely strong woman. For all she's been through, she finds something in Atticus that is easy for her to trust and love. I absolutely love these two together. Connie, Archie and Bodie are key players in bringing Alicia into the fold. And lets not forget Jasper, Braun and Thane keeping things in order, helping Atticus and adding that family feel. And Liam...oh my. Would love to hear more about him! This is a fabulous story and I completely enjoyed it.

Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St Claire keep creating magic as they read this series. Each book is so different and their versatility with each is amazing. Their characters from book to book are consistent and make the listens easy to follow. This one was especially good, giving Atticus who is usually the alpha in every way a bit of vulnerability. Qualen is spot on with his portrayal making him real. St Claire has layers to Alicia and she peels them away. From the scared girl to the confident woman, she let me enjoy her transformation and acclimation to life. This performance is special and you do not want to miss it.

Daddy trope

These narrators just get better with every book in this series. Not my favorite trope but they make all them interesting.

Worth a listen

Overall, this was well written and the narrators made you feel the emotions of each characters . First time listening to a Daddy/little trope and even though I couldn’t relate to the characters, the story kept me listening because I wanted to see Atticus and Alicia get their HEA.

Amazing Story & Narration🎧 Enthralling & Intense!

It is great to be back in Kay Elle Parker’s “Club Avalon” world for another amazing novel, a novel that not only captivated my attention the entire time but tugged on my heartstrings too. Atticus Heisler, a Master of Avalon and an owner of his own security company, has intrigued me, and it is not your ordinary security company, but one that takes on some dangerous jobs and missions. I do not read or listen to many Daddy/little books, mainly because I struggle to relate to the characters, I am not kink shaming anyone it just is not my thing, I have trouble connecting with the characters, but my intrigue of Atticus was enough to override my feelings about that and I am so glad I did, because this is one of the best Daddy/little books I have enjoyed, Parker did an amazing job with relationship dynamics and the frame of mind of her character, Alicia McGee, and I could connect and feel for Alicia, who has not had the best or easiest of lives. Paralyzed from the waist down when she was a kid and brought up by abusive parents, whose lives she ended. Alicia is Bodie’s sister and spent some time with Connie, who tried to help her before she went into the rehabilitation facility. When Atticus went to go see her, it horrified him at what he found and took immediate action and removed her from the place to his home. She sparked something in him and there was an instant attraction, he was determined to help her in every way he could, physically and mentally, her parents did a number on her and broke her in so many gut wrenching ways and my heart went out to her. Atticus was so good with her and for her, his experience as a Dom and a Daddy helped a lot and she was a natural submissive who needed direction. Having no sort of childhood or education left her naïve in many aspects of life. Because of her screwed up parents, trouble was not over for her and she still had people after her, dangerous people, but Atticus would keep her safe and put a team together to take down those who threaten her or harmed her in the past. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is brilliantly plotted with a perfect balance of drama, angst, thrilling and suspenseful moment, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn romance and kink scenes that are well written and presented. Kay Elle Parker, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the amazing narration, Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St. Claire continue to do an outstanding job bringing these characters and their story to life. They have a complete understanding of who these characters are and play their roles with perfection, grasping every side of their personality. Qualen nailed it as Atticus, portraying him as the master that he was, grasped his caring Daddy side and his strong, bossy alpha side. St. Claire grasped every side of Alicia’s personality, from fears and insecurities to her bratty child like behavior. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance, having you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their duet performance enhances this already great story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Daddy Atticus

Performance: I have loved Gunnar Qualen in all the Avalon books so far but his Daddy Atticus voice is just plain 🔥🔥. He could read the dictionary in that voice and I would listen. Jenna St. Claire also did a great job with Lesha. She really captured the little side well.
Story: I love this series and this book is no exception. I love how Atticus treats Lesha. He respects her trauma but doesn’t let it dictate their relationship. The growth of Lesha’s character is also well written.
