Publisher's summary

Tincanuka is a coming-of-age lesbian love story about a troubled young woman named Leah. When Leah becomes the sole desire of Sabine, she is forced to confront not only her past traumas but also herself as she learns of the unyielding love and deep respect found in BDSM.

This story is perfect for people who are coming to terms with their truth, learning about the BDSM dynamic, and accepting themselves for who they truly are.

Good book

It's a good book. Not as long as I expected and there wasn't much about the plot that the descriptions hints at but still overall a great book.

interesting idea...

I give this 3.5 stars. I enjoyed getting involved with the characters. I thought the narrator did a great job. marked down for some background noise that was distracting for me in the beginning.
I will research after I write my review, but it felt as though I was listening to book 2 of a series. Some of the story line seemed to be presumptuous otherwise. Such as what Leah went through prior to her relationship with Sabine. There were snippets. But no real concrete info.
Also, I am not sure how I feel about Leah working through her issues, BDSM and child abuse of her current students all rolled into one story. I don't mind reading about BDSM, but when you are thinking of it, or any type of sex, while discussing the abuse of a child....that was a big ick to me.
Not very erotic. so if that scares you off, no worry. There were no graphic BDSM scenes at all in my opinion.

I was given a free copy of this in exchange for my honest review

Good Characters

Overall I enjoyed this story, but wish it was a bit more developed and detailed. The characters are really great, but you get introduced to a whole lot of them and most are not really related to the plot at all. I wish the book was a bit longer and more developed, especially with Sabine and the girl who was her partner in BDSM dominance (I forgot her name, there were just way too many characters to keep track of), but that would have been a great subplot to work into the story. It would also be nice to know what abuse or trauma Leah was subjected to, it was only hinted at and never really explored either, but the whole book is based on her working through her issues, but we don't really know what it was. I also liked that the book did not focus on sex and BDSM, but more on the characters.
