Publisher's summary

How rough can you take it?

Lourdes.

He was brazen as hell from the moment I laid eyes on him. He was aggressive, and dominant, with Mack truck arms, and a bar brawler voice.

He was too good looking for his own good, with a hard jaw, and harder eyes.

I’d always led a fairly peaceful life, but even I could tell at a glance that this man was dangerous.

For so many reasons.

Not the least of which being that rough, dirty, sheet-clawing sex fairly radiated off him.

I’d thought I’d known how to handle every kind of man, but this one left me baffled.

To say he wasn’t my type was putting it lightly.

But you couldn’t tell that to my libido.

Not even when I found out the truth.

My lover had lied to me from the very start.

Nothing about our meeting was a coincidence.

This book can be listened to as a standalone.

Good but not my favorite

The story line was good. The only trouble I had was the accent. I had a hard time some of the times understanding what she was saying. Not horrible but it was distracting from the story.

Just read the book!

I loved the book, and the whole series.
Unfor the narrator had a lovely accent but mispronounced so many words that it was appalling.

need a new narrator

the narrator's poor english language really made the audiobook version very bad.
some words was impossible to understand, many words was pronounced so bad it made it hard to follow the storyline. and made me rewind insanely often. and sadly she made the tough sexy male part sound like a needy, whining brat without an ounce of sexappeal. 😕

Hard to Understand

The narrator was hard to understand at times. I get why they chose her though.

loved the story but ...

I loved the story but the narrator was hard to understand. wish it was a different narrator I would have enjoyed the book so much more if I could have understood what was being said.

Narration was a distraction!

I have enjoyed narrators with various accents, but this one was a distraction. Too many words poorly pronounced.

ESL (Eng. Second Language) Narrator

I really like this story which is a companion to other secondary characters in the Up in the Air-Mile High series by the same author. Stories I enjoy I often listen to several times, as I have done with this one. But this narrator really makes listening a difficult task as nearly every other word has to be "translated" in the mind because she mispronounces the words. For example, content meaning satisfied vs content meaning what something contains. Or /in-STANT-ly/ vs /IN-stant-ly/; /preg-NANCY/ vs /PREG-nancy/. Also, she doesn't always pause at the end of sentences, so the mind has to do a quick grammar fix as well. It is unfortunate the producers of this Audible book didn't stick with the reader who was used in the promo section of the last book of the Up in the Air-Mile High Series where I first learned about this book.

Hot & Steamy Follow-up

This book gives incredible back story of what was happening at the same time as events occurring in The Wild Side Trilogy. If you wanted to know what was going on with Iris' brother, this is the book! I almost didn't listen because of the bad reviews about the narrator AND they aren't exaggerating.....be prepared. It's apparent that English is NOT her first language as some of the pronunciations are really bad. HOWEVER, if you enjoy listening to foreign accents and like this author along with the previous trilogy, it's doable.
