Why did my first interview have to be with the football superstar?

Vincent Lee was a known playboy. He went through models and cheerleaders on a monthly basis. Girls will do anything for his attention. Can you imagine the death stares I got in the office after being selected for the one-on-one?

The last thing I need to worry about is falling for a hot football pro. I just need to hold it together and survive the interview without lunging at him.

I’m scheduled in last. So there’s plenty of time for my imagination to run wild....

Oh, and did I mention he moved the interview to the locker room so he could shower? How am I going to get through this without getting in trouble?

The Intern is a football romance short with a very HEA. My first attempt at audio.

The Intern

This was a very short story. As with most short stories there wasn't much time for character development so I had a little bit of a hard time connecting to the characters. Overall though, it was cute. If you're looking for a quick story that gets right to the point, you might want to check this one out. It's a good amount of story for a lunch time listen.

As for narration, this was the author's first attempt. There were three things that stood out for me with the narration. The first is that it was narrated very fast. I would suggest, while reading, to take pauses where there's punctuation in the written text. The second, kind of goes along with the first. I think, because it was spoken fast, there wasn't much emotion to inflection. It was hard to tell the different emotions of the characters. Lastly, there wasn't any difference in the female character versus male character voices. This made it harder to follow along with who was talking. These are things I'm sure all new narrators struggle with and, since it's a first attempt, I would definitely be willing to listen to another by this author/narrator.

A Quickie

This is a really short story. It is well written and the characters are fun. The narration is okay, it could've been better. The author is the narrator and you can tell it's their first time. The characters didn't have their own voices or emotions. Also the story was read at a too quick of pace. My suggestions would be for the author to slow down, practice various voices and inflict those voices with the proper emotions. I think with a bit of practice the author/narrator could really bring their own stories to life. Also as a first time narrator I most certainly will give this author/narrator a second chance and if they show improvement then a third chance and so on. I do not regret requesting this book and will recommend it to my friends (with a warning of first time narrator).

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
